Many unpaid carers have had to care for someone on a virtual ward (also known as ‘hospital at home’).

Virtual wards support patients to manage their care at home over the short term, with close monitoring by their care teams, rather than in hospital.

Virtual wards | Carers UK Virtual wards aim to help patients receive their care and healthcare at home rather than in hospital. This will only happen in the short term if it's right for the patient, and care teams will carefully monitor them.
