Such sad news about Benjamin Zephaniah 😭 He was a dear friend and I used to spend time with him when he was poet-in-residence at Keats House in Hampstead. I was embarrassed when he came to see me performing at Pentameters Theatre because there were only 4 in the audience (it was a two-hander based on a play written by Robert Calvert of Hawkwind fame) but Benjamin more than made up for it at the end of the show with his enthusiastic cheering, clapping, whooping and stamping his feet 💝 Such a lovely lovely kind-hearted man, taken far too soon 💔 Here we are together performing his poem 'Talking Turkeys' ... https://youtu.be/2CeSVSYqiBg?si=d1HYpH7obtkHWcXZ Miriam Margolyes
