We're always proud to support our international students 🌍💪🏻, sharing their voice and providing them with a supportive community. Hear from me, Reading Students’ Union International Students' Officer, on why I applied for the role and about being involved with the students' union.

As the International Students’ Officer of Reading Students' Union, I am honoured to appear on ITV News yesterday to discuss the government’s recent announcement to ban Master’s students from bringing family members to the UK, including the impact of the limitation for international students switching from student visas to work visas.

The Student Union is always here and feel free to drop me a message if you are panic or confused about the recent situation. Meanwhile, the University is also generating a guidance for international students regarding the same issue. Stay tuned! 📺 💫

Reading University Students' Union - RUSU

Got an idea that you want to change in uni? Make sure you do submit it so it would get a vote

📣Calling all students 📣

We want to hear what YOU think would improve student experience at the University of Reading. You have until 29th October to submit your ideas for them to go to Student Voice this term.

Daisy

Hi everyone,

We are currently recruiting Student Voice members- To make sure that the Student Voice membership is representative of the student body, we recruit members from different student groups. This includes some places reserved for student group committee members.

Student Voice is a RUSU forum where:
Students debate and vote on ideas submitted through Change It! that direct what RUSU does
Progress on previous ideas is reviewed
You get to hold the Student Officers to account on their work

Student Voice takes place on Tuesday evening once a term (with free dinner) and anybody can attend, but only members can vote- it also looks fantastic on your CV! This is a relatively low work-load role which has a huge influence on how RUSU runs.

If you’re interested just fill in this survey- it only takes one minute. It’s very informal, we just want to know why you want the role: http://www.rusu.co.uk/surveys/SVM2019

The deadline to apply is THIS THURSDAY 10th October at 5pm.

If you have any questions feel free to ask me by emailing [email protected], or email the chair of student voice Sara Mattar at [email protected]

Thanks!
