REMINDER
Monday 6th November is a teacher training day.
Children start on Tuesday 7th November on both sites.
The Y6 residential is over for another year 😴 hope everyone has a restful weekend; looking forward to seeing you all on Monday. A HUGE thank you to Miss Bainbridge, Miss Spence, Mrs Solomon and Miss Peirce for all their hard work. We certainly have some amazing staff and children at Henry Hinde! 🤩
…and we’re off! ETA is 15:10, traffic dependent. See you soon 👋🏼
The final activity for some was canoeing and kayaking 🛶 what a great way to end our trip!
😎
Splash 🛶
Mrs Solomon showing the kids how it’s done 🛶 this was the part everyone was most looking forward to and nervous for, but they’re all doing brilliantly!
Miss Spence and Miss Bainbridge’s group are off on the zip line!
A Sunny Friday at Willersley. We have been fed and watered and are about to start our first activity - stay tuned for canoeing/kayaking and zip line pictures!
Reaching new heights on the rock wall!
We found some little forest elves down by the rock climbing today 🧝♀️
Still smiling!
These smiles were much sleepier by the end of grass sledging!
🤩
We had an extra spectator for grass sledging
👀 our school value of collaboration certainly comes in handy for the blind trail
🗡️ 🤺
“It’s time for the blind trail!”
“…wait, who said that?!” 👀
We are well into our first activities - luckily we had a brilliant breakfast to help power our busy morning 💪🏼🍴 🥓
A lovely sunny morning here at Willersley ☀️ hoping it stays that way! Miss Bainbridge’s activity booklet is going down a storm before breakfast.
Time for lights out. A great start to our residential so far 😴
A few more from our campfire 🔥
Mrs Solomon’s mega marshmallows went down a treat 🔥
A selection of our best concentration faces 🤔
Our first afternoon has been a wet one ☔️ but we managed to enjoy a walk into Matlock Bath and lots of happy faces all round. We’ve just had tea and are soon heading off to a campfire 🔥
Come to the Circus! On the field of HHJS on Friday 23rd June.
Due to the icy conditions and staff being unable to make it into school Henry Hinde will be closed to all pupils today. We hope to see you on Monday as usual.
📚 Hunt's at Henry Hinde 📚
Rebecca and Chris went on a Hunt's road trip this morning to Henry Hinde Junior School, where they delivered an assembly and reading of four fantastic children's titles - Boot by Shane Hegarty, The Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell, Nevermoor by Jessica Towsend and Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape by Dermot O'Leary.
The passion and enthusiasm for reading in the young people was fantastic to see!
If you would be interested in having Hunt's visit your school please do drop us a message or an email.
