👮🏼👮🏻‍♂️ Neighbourhood Officers have been investigating a number of phone thefts in St Albans throughout March. As the unsuspecting victims leave their phones on a table in a shop/restaurant, the offenders distract the victims by engaging in conversation and swiftly take their phones. It is only until the offenders have walked off do the victims realise they have had their phones stolen.

🚔 On Wednesday 27th March 2024 Neighbourhood Officers arrested a 57-year-old male, a 22-year-old female and a 24-year-old female, all from London, who had travelled into St Albans together and were believed to be involved in the phone thefts throughout March.

🚨 The 24-year-old female was also wanted for a similar offence by the Metropolitan Police.

🚗 And the 57-year-old male was found to be driving the vehicle he travelled to St Albans in without insurance. The vehicle was subsequently seized and he will be dealt with for this offence also.

👀 Please use this as a reminder to be vigilant and to keep your phone close to you. If anyone approaches you in a shop/restaurant be cautious of their intentions.
