On the eve of my 8th business birthday - leaving this here
The whole ethos of TMD
Think I’ve done ok in the last 2920 days for you all…what do you reckon?
Good luck to all the kids out there starting back at school next week. Whether they're going for the very first time, returning to start a new year or moving onto secondary school, they're all huge milestones.
So share those pics of the kids on their first day back of their shiny new shoes and too big clothes that they'll "grow into" as it's amazing to look back at them to see how much they change in such a short amount of time.
Harry's going into Year 4 and Chloe's somehow starting high school - I'm not sure how this has happened as I'm definitely not old enough (or grown up enough should I say) to have a kid at secondary!!
Sending hugs to any of you who are worrying about it - try and relish a little bit of time for you (if you can) and if you're missing them just remember - don't ever underestimate how ridiculously short the school day is so you wont miss them for long!!
A week to go till these clubs all restart
What you waiting for??

Don’t look back in anger at the last week of the school holidays. Stop crying your heart out about the new school year - the fun days of the juggle can’t live forever 😉
The Masterplan this weekend is a long run Saturday for the 1/2 club and then a Liverpool 10k on Sunday for me and the Alty 10k for many - we’ve got to roll with it and maybe some of us will get supersonic PB’s

Had an awesome week away with the family in sunny wales 🏴
Properly switched off so now back and raring to get back to work and catch up with everyone’s summers ☀️✈️🌴
Summer timetable for another 2 and a bit weeks and then back to normal when the kids go back 🥰
That’s a wrap for a week from me. Off to spend a week with this lot and my parents so my final note..
August is always a challenging month to keep active due to holidays, the juggle of school hols and the heat but just be kind to yourself. Rest is sometimes just as important as staying active and there's always different ways to be active - walking with the kids, bike rides, beach trips, etc.
So change your normal schedule if you can and get up and out earlier/later to stay out the heat of the day or if you cant do that, take it down a notch and you'll still get the gains you need from working hard but not feeling like you're going to die! Running slower or doing less intensive reps is perfect.
Having a few weeks off will NOT undo all the hard work you've been putting in so make sure you chill out, have that ice cream with the kids or that G&T at sunset - life's too short to not
Have a wonderful holiday if you're going away or if you're staying in sunny Manchester, make the most of the time you have off and make sure you watch as much of the Olympics as you can - it's bloody incredible!
Back next week peeps xx
Some great runs happened last month - Wilmslow 10k, Trafford 5 miler and Media City to name a few. I also did Wythenshawe Games 10k which was (as always!) incredibly hot!!
Trafford 5 miler was a great run with a new route for me which was so pretty (except one big hill in the middle!!) and was great to support another local run club who organised the event.
Media City saw a lot of first medals for the TMD 5k Boost crew who did amazingly in their first official race...cant wait to see how much more bling you accrue over the years!
Just in case you needed an excuse for some new trainers…here’s a reshare of my blog about what to look for in your new pair

Summer timetable - lots of classes still on, just on a reduced schedule for August ☀️☀️🥳🥳
Monday nights are still on every week through the summer
Challenge runs to get you pushing your pace and running differently to the norm.
Completely drop in and are 8pm so no excuses about it being too hot!!! 🥵
Anyone else a little sick of sandwiches? I’ve come up with 5 lovely picnic ideas for you which are healthy, taste amazing and are simple to make when you’ve got the kids at home.
All on the blog…here’s the link https://www.thesemumsdo.co.uk/summer-picnic-ideas/
Anyone got any others that they’d like to share??

First of the month ☀️
What a month…you’ve been extremely busy!!
Happy end of July!! 💪🥵🤩🙌
Just this…loving the Olympics so so much
One thing I am continuously struck by is that the power of the Olympics is in their humanity. In the way that the full spectrum of human emotion is on display in every single sport, in every single event, in every single athlete.
It is in the triumph, the disappointment, the humility, the camaraderie, the determination . . . not just on the track or the field or the mat or the pool, but on the sidelines as well.
If you look closely, you can see it everywhere.
Jordan Chiles and her parents overcome with raw emotion after she nailed her floor routine, the last of the four events she competed in to help Team USA reclaim the gold in the women’s gymnastics team all-around finals.
Ilona Maher’s sisters cheering wildly in identical shirts as she led her sevens team to a first medal, and the rugby player’s even more important message to the world that “all body types can be Olympians.”
The ear tug that Stephen Nedoroscik uses to signal “Hey” to his loved ones, which started through the TV for his Polish grandfather, a WWII vet who died last year.
The sign reading “Ryan, it’s a girl!” that Ryan Murphy’s wife held up after he won bronze in the 100-meter backstroke.
The knitting that settles British Olympic diver and anti-bullying advocate Tom Daley while he cheers on his teammates.
The revelation that Egyptian fencer Nada Hefez competed at seven months pregnant.
These are only a few.
We admire these athletes not only because they humble and amaze us, but because in each of their stories we can see glimpses of ourselves—we can see our own struggles and victories and comebacks and experiences and joy.
We love the Olympics because they reveal the depth and beauty and strength of the human spirit.
And when we allow ourselves to see it, not only in the most elite athletes and competitors, but in ourselves, we can restore our connection to each other in the world.
I cannot think of anything more powerful than that.
Had the best few days at the studio with my epic group of monthly members. 3 incredible wins…
🩳 2 have worn shorts to workout in for the first time ever because they feel it’s such a safe/un-judgy space
💪 Did the measurements for one member and in 7 months she’s lost and incredible 18cm
💊 One member no longer takes daily pain relief for joint pain after working out consistently for 10 months
What it alllll about
Get in touch if you want to join the crew 🙌🙌
