‼️U16 REGIONAL TRIAL SIGN UP IS NOW OPEN ‼️

Sign up to GNC’s U16 Regional League trials to be in with a chance of being selected in to the 2024/25 squad.

Trials will be held at Taunton Vale Sports Club, 7-8.30pm on Tuesday 18th & Tuesday 25th June.

✨ and that’s a wrap…

Our seniors got together on Saturday night for our annual End of Season Presentation Evening 🪩 It was a fabulous evening spent celebrating what a triumph this season has been and gave us an opportunity to thank all who make this club the best it can be, and of course, to acknowledge and raise a toast to those that have achieved so much this season.

A huge congratulations to all our deserving and worthy award winners 🥂

We love seeing our GNC youngsters doing so well🫶

Huge congratulations to GNC’s Amelie (U19) and Lily, Samia, Faith & Isabella (U15) who took part in Team Bath Netball’s ADC Tournament yesterday.

The tournament was organised for all 9 ADC hubs run by Team Bath in the South West. By all accounts the netball was of an exceptionally high standard.

Parkfield (sponsored by Hannah Symes HS Manual Therapy) played their last match away against Vipers yesterday. Despite a close start, they managed to pull away and win the game. It was an an excellent effort from everyone up the court, especially Tanya who got the double POM!

Claremont (sponsored by Joseph Woods Builders) had a really early start to face tomahawks yesterday. We knew it was going to be a rough game paying the winners of the league. The game was so close throughout but we went into the lasts quarter 4 down. We game it our absolute all and came out with a draw🎉 what a fantastic end to the season!

The final game of the 23/24 season for Newbarn (sponsored by Lentells Accountants) saw them travel up to Paulton to take on Spears. The first positive is that it didn't rain; the second positive was that we had fun; and the third positive is we got back in time to get ready for the EOS! Also thank you to Michelle for your kind words and calling us resilient- we're glad we made you smile throughout 😊. Well played team, and we're going to party like it's 1999!

There really is no better way to celebrate another brilliant season of netball, than our annual mixed tournament. It’s so lovely to have the opportunity to combine our Somerset and RL squads, and as ever it was a fun filled night!

The countdown is well and truly on for our end of season celebrations on Saturday!

Our last home game of the season saw Newbarn (sponsored by Lentells Accountants) take on Saturn in the glorious sunshine. Saturn came storming out of the blocks, but Newbarn kept the pressure on and kept the scoreline within a touching distance. They went on to win the second quarter to narrow the scoreline with lots of hassle up and down the court, however it wasn't meant to be and Saturn took the win. Well played team - one match to go!

The end of season is in sight and its almost time for our Senior End of Season Presentation Evening! 🎉 In the run up to the main event and over the course of the next 10 days, you'll be hearing from each of our teams, their coach and captains as they take us through their season round ups.

WHAT A DAY!!!! This amazing U16RL squad (sponsored by Taunton School) got through to the South West U16 Division 2 play offs that were held today in Bath, and they played their socks off!! Every single player gave it 110% in every match, their determination shining through. They played as a squad, cheering each other on and supporting one another both on and off the court. This teamwork really was the star of the show and although the results didn't always go their way, they pulled out a draw against the team that won the overall play offs, and won their last game in style! So immensely proud of the whole U16RL squad, including those that couldn't be there today but helped get the squad to play offs.

They should be so proud of themselves for finishing 2nd in the U16 Division 2 South League and for putting on a show of outstanding netball today!

Massive shout out to the parents for driving the squad across the South West this season, and to Nic, Sophia & Evie for their help with stats on the bench.

A treat was in store for Newbarn (sponsored by Lentells Accountants) as they were lucky enough to play indoors today! A great start saw Newbarn take the lead in the first quarter. They held onto their leading going into half time with some sensational interceptions from the defensive unit, and everyone working the ball down the court to the fab shooters. They extended their lead in the third quarter which left them in a good position heading into quarter 4, where they continued to play well and pick up tips and interceptions. A fabulous win for this fabulous team!

Comeytrowe (sponsored by NRJ SW Ltd.) had their final game of the season today and what a game to finish on. They started out strong despite the sweltering heat they kept on going. There was countless tips and interceptions all through the court as they applied great pressure while working well as a team. Great game and season Trowe!
