With our Division 1 status secured for the next season, we are looking for a Head Coach to continue the Wyverns' journey into our 10th year and build on solid, and exciting foundations.

About the Role:
We're on the hunt for a Head Coach who can truly make a difference. If you’re someone who loves the game and excels at bringing out the best in players and coaches, we want to hear from you! The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong leader, and someone who is passionate about developing talent both on and off the field.

What We’re Looking For:
• Someone who can lead our team with skill and dedication.
• Someone who can build a coaching staff that complements our team and unit requirements.
• A coach who can design and implement effective training programmes.
• A mentor who can guide and support our players and assistant coaches.
• An inclusive leader who fosters a positive team culture.
• A coach who can maintain our competitive edge and push the Wyverns to achieve even greater success.

Requirements:
• Level 2 BAFCA Coaching Qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
• Experience coaching at a competitive level.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to develop and implement effective game strategies.
• A mandatory DBS check provided by the Club.

Somehow this is BShaws first MVP of the season, after dominating in the air down the field all season, he added two TDs to his impressive tally this season

🚨 Club Announcement

After 7 years at the Wyverns, our Head Coach Jack Mullins has made the difficult decision to step away from senior football at the end of the current season. Jack has been a large part of the Wyverns' short history and has been instrumental in pushing the Wyverns to where we are today!

Arriving in 2017, Jack formed part of a strong defensive line-up, making his presence known from kick-off! Fast forward to 2019, and Jack found himself moving the #5 to the other side of the ball, commanding the Offense. A calm character in the huddle, Jack rallied the offense and started putting his own strategies into play. When the opportunity to become the Offensive Coordinator presented itself, Jack jumped at the chance to step up and lead the offense further—whilst still holding the QB #1 spot!

In the 2023 season, Jack stepped into the Head Coach role and pushed the Wyverns to the Division 2 Play-Off Semi-Final, giving the Wyverns their most successful season ever and promoting them to Division 1. In 2024, in their first year in Division 1, the Wyverns have secured their spot for the 2025 season!

On top of these amazing feats Coach Mullins still found time to help develop many players and other coaches to progress to our national program.

The Wyverns extend our deepest gratitude to Coach Mullins for his unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the Club! His passion for the game is unquestionable and will be sorely missed on our side-lines.

Our last away game of the season sadly didn't bring a fruitful result, but it did bring a few sparkling performances from a few of our players, down on the South Coast. The Fireaway Pizza Taunton MVPs are;

After coming off the bench, Joe was the gun slinging self he usually is and was able to carve up the Bobcats Secondary and helped keep us in the game.

These Exeter Demons boys are proving useful aren't they, another one on defence proving his worth with his sure tackling and constant QB pressure from the defensive line.

Oli is quickly becoming a fan favourite with his electric runs on special teams, whether on Punt Return or Kick Return, once the ball is in his hands, good things happen.

The Wyverns were back in action this week, on the road away @ Bristol Apache, which was tough day out with us sadly picking up our second loss of the season. However, there were some standout performances, our Fireaway Pizza MVPs are;

Offence: Ross Owen (Player Sponsor: Platinum Gate Security)
Our RB was looking at his best on a number of carries Sunday. Not to mention his long TD run, which counted 65 yards on the stat sheet but he must have run over 100 zigging and zagging through the Apache defence.

Defence: Louis Mallender (Player Sponsor: Available)
Not on the starting sheet Sunday but once he came onto the field, he just couldn't be taken off, coming up with pass break ups and hard hits, blanketing his side of the field.

Our first player to pick up his second MVP this season, boy does this guy love a punt. When we needed him to give us as good field position as possible, he performed time after time.
