Another Week Of Wins 

I'm greatfull to have such a great group of guys in the coaching team. 

It's not always easy to stay on track after 30...

Most of my clients are busy as hell but still manage to show up week in and week out. 

A big part of that is having an approach that fits their lifestyle.

I don't overwhelm them with a training programme that would make an Olympic athlete's eyes water. 

Or give them a bodybuilder meal plan to follow. 

I know I bang on about it all the time but...

How Hating Myself At 16 Save Me At 32...

The insecurity fuelled me to train for long enough that I started to enjoy how a healthy lifestyle made me feel.

Now that I've stayed fit for over 16 years, I can maintain it throughout the chaos of my 30s.

I'm Not A "Successful" Coach...

At least not in the eyes of social media.

I don't live in Dubai, own a Lambgeni Urus or take selfies smoking ci**rs (thank god).

In fact, I'm a bit of a boring bastard. 

Building a business and being so busy doesn't leave time to travel or do a ton of fun stuff- hopefully, that'll change when the kids are a bit older. 

Sure, that won't make me a social media celebrity. 

But it will make me a better coach...

In the online coaching space, some coaches become victims of their own success.

I've heard horror stroys of the biggest coaches (on social media) taking on way more clients than they can handle and their service starts to slip.

❌️Unanswered messages 

❌️Getting palmed off to another coach

❌️The same templated training programme 

In short, you become another number who doesn't feel seen or heard and, out of pocket (sometimes by £1000's!)  

As turnover is so high, they need to be constantly looking for new clients as no one wants to stay as the service is sh*t. 

This is my worst nightmare. 

I would HATE for you to put your trust in me to improve your health and to feel like I don't care about you. 

So, while I don't have 100s of clients or live in a mansion - I can sleep well at night (when the kids don't get me up 🤣)  knowing I give everything to invest in you as a client...

My Clients Aren't Perfect...

I don't train guys who can commit their lives to getting in shape. 

Most of the guys I train are 30+, have work deadlines, dependants and TO-DO lists as long as their arm. 

In the real world... This means they won't get their training and nutrition perfect all of the time.

(And I don't expect them to) 

To be clear, I hold my clients to a high standard and push them to do their best. 

But, some s**t is unavoidable. 

The great thing is...

They don't need to be perfect or beat themselves up if they slip up...

I set my clients up with training and nutrition that works around their lives and...

Drill into them the importance of getting back to things as fast as possible when life gets in the way. 

And through consistency and training programs and nutrition approaches, they can ACTUALLY follow, they...

👉Build a body to feel proud of 

👉Fight back against the looming 30+ dad bod. 

👉Boost energy and productivity to smash work and life. 

👉Set an example to kids (or future kids) by leading a healthy lifestyle.

To be blunt, if you're over 30 and the reason you're not getting started on your journey...

Is that you're too busy

Or

You don't have a "clear run" to focus on your health.

It's not easy when headspace is non-existent 🫠

Okay, I'm Guilty...

When I want to achieve something...

I look to those in a similar situation who have been there and done it. 

I've been part of mentorships and the online coaches who always seem to do the best are:

Young with no responsibilities

Have complete control of their schedule.  

Don't have kids (or built the business before having a child) 

I have none of those things 😅

And to find an example of someone in my situation who's beat the odds and achieved success is hard.

Of course, there ARE online coaches with kids and a hectic schedule who do make it work, but they are the exception, not the rule. 

I can use this information in two ways...

1️⃣ Settle for less and tell myself it's not possible to hit my goals

2️⃣ Lead the way and become the example of someone who can succeed despite the odds being stacked against them. 

Why does this matter for you and building a great body? 

Scrolling social media, you've probably noticed the same trend, but instead of building a business, it's getting in shape.

20-year-old guys sharing their morning routine

Eating out of Tupperware every meal

6 X per week bodybuilding split

No kids or responsibilities

It's easy to think you'll never be able to integrate a healthy lifestyle. 

Couple that with the fact most guys in your peer group haven't managed to stay in shape either, it can seem impossible. 

If you've found yourself in this position, you also have 2 choices...

1️⃣ Tell yourself it's not possible. Getting in shape is for younger guys with no responsibility or...

2️⃣ Become the example you can't find elsewhere.

If you want to live a life where you're confident with how you look, energized and healthy. 

Your only option is to lead the way and become the example of a guy who manages to stay in great shape around all the responsibilities of being an adult. 

It's that or blend into the average and give up.

Can You Imagine Looking In The Mirror And Thinking...

"I look incredible".

It would be a pretty good feeling, wouldn't it?

Now think about how feeling proud of how you look would impact the rest of your life...

No more hiding under baggy clothes or not feeling "at home" in your body.

Avoiding having your picture taken and do***ng your reflection in the mirror.

Preaching a healthy lifestyle to your kids but feeling like a hypocrite.

That's no way to live.

After having spoken to loads of guys facing similar issues, the sad part is...

They lost hope and lack positivity about their future health and fitness.

"I don't have time for meditation, ice baths and living in the gym, I guess I'll have to accept I'll never have the body I want".

If you've ever thought that, I get it.

I don't have time for any of that either.

Nor do my clients.

When you've got kids, work, and a house to run you're time is already spread thin (I know this as well as anyone).

That doesn't mean you can't get in incredible shape and love how you look...

You just need a different approach.

This is the importance of hiring a coach who "gets it".

My time is spread thin. The same applies to most of my clients.

However, we all manage to get (and stay) in shape WITHOUT the gyms becoming our lives.

Your not 20 anymore

You dont have time to burn

Getting in shape and loving how you look is less about what's "optimal" overall and more about maximising the time you DO have.

Would You Hire An Online Coach Who Didn't Have...

In-person experience?

This question is divisive in the online coaching space...

Some will say coaching people in person doesn't matter.

Others say you shouldn't be an online coach without in-person experience.

My take...

It depends on the client.

If a bodybuilder trains experienced bodybuilders - in-person experience doesn't matter as much because it's likely the client already knows their way around a gym.

But, one thing I see far too often...

Coaches who've never trained anyone in person fail their clients with programming and nutrition approaches not suitable for them.

When you've only trained yourself, it's easy to get out of touch with what non-gym rats need to get in shape around kids, work, etc.

And...

If you're hiring a coach in better shape than you, thinking if you do what they did to look like them...

Sadly, it rarely plays out that way.

I still work with clients in person- as I have for the last 9 years.

*I mainly use social media for the online coaching side of things. I don't talk about it much on here.

And I'm a much better online coach for it.

Whenever I've seen behind the curtain of other online coaches' services, I can spot from a mile off who's worked with people in person and who hasn't.

It's night and day!

My advice to you...

If you're not a bodybuilder or athlete with loads of gym experience- hire a coach with at least 1 year's experience working with guys like you...

And has a track record of getting guys like you in shape without health and fitness taking over their lives.

Before starting coaching, he knew getting in shape was important to him.

But he had one big problem...

He'd seen a PT and done some training before, so he wasn't starting from scratch.
