I made my way over to my former club of Skibbereen rowing club on Saturday morning to drop over 2 sets of leg recovery systems to help in their final stages of prep for the Irish National Rowing Championships.

While nothing beats sleep, hydration, nutrition & movement for recovery, the boots will assist in the later stages of their taper and in-between races in Inniscara next weekend. I often incorporate the boots into my sports therapy treatment with athletes.

At Hurley NMT I provide a number of services, primarily related to the the treatment of chronic pain but I also spend a lot of time working with athletes; assisting them with ongoing injuries, recovery strategies and training advice.

Closed the 29th September due to an ESB power outage. Planned the 18th July, notified the 23rd September.

My table is electric, my heating is electric and poor light at the entrance would be a health and safety risk. Unfortunately I'll have to cancel appointments and close.

Had a fun morning working with the athletes at Skibbereen Rowing club after their successful day at Cork Head of the River this weekend.

A strength endurance sport like rowing requires a serious volume of training, with this comes all the pains, aches and injury risks you would expect. This is a very healthy group so we spent an hour going through some advanced hip and leg mobility techniques to keep them on the water.

As the weather warms up training is stepping on for most of us. Recovery is an aspect of training that is often forgotten about. To maximise recovery you can do the basics correctly,
- Get Enough Sleep!
- Stay hydrated!
- Eat enough of the right food!

Once your doing this consistently consider improving your recovery protocols.
The easiest option is to introduce sports massage to your routine. Improved circulation, reduced muscle soreness, reduced stiffness are all associated with quality sports massage.
