Happy Halloween!

Thursday Cubs (+ a few friends from other sections) really enjoyed the interactive Creepy Crawlies event at The Hunt Museum yesterday. Thank you to the amazing staff members, Sally & Emma, who kept everyone enthralled throughout. Hopefully our cubs have learned to become a little more tolerant and appreciative of the bugs that make our world go round. 🐝

Monday & Tuesday Beavers united for a spooky night hike and visit to ‘Bob’ tonight. Did they make it out of the forest? Tune in next week to find out.

Beavers continue to work on their L1 Hillwalking skills.

It’s all fun and games until somebody gets eaten…. Tuesday Cubs got into the Halloween spirit with some fun with our Gamesmaster Extraordinaire, Ruth, and Paul’s ghost story, the finale of which almost sent several of our cubs toppling (note to self: update risk assessment). Oh and there were some s’mores to keep stamina and courage levels up.

TARGET REACHED!! Big congrats to our Ventures who raised €1033 for Focus Ireland from their recent sleep out. What a fantastic achievement.

Huge thanks to everyone who came along to our table quiz and raffle on Friday night. Your support is very much appreciated. We raised an amazing €1143, all of which will go towards activities for our youth members.

Busy session for scouts tonight. They tried out a new game, our new PLs & APLs recapped on their recent training weekend, four patrols were formed and older members showed newer members some basic pioneering skills. Not a bad way to spend a Wednesday evening.

Delighted to facilitate the first meeting of the Hour a Week Club this past Monday, focusing on National Events for Beaver Scouts.

There was excellent discussion and ideas from all attendees and it was great to hear perspectives from across the island. The discussion included perspectives on adventure skills, how best to deliver national beaver activities and what activities Beaver scouts enjoy 🦫

Well done to our fantastic Venture Scouts who unleashed their inner demons to take part in the Acm Centre Frightfest event in Castleconnell at the weekend. Great fun was had.

We finally formed our sixer packs in Tuesday Cubs, & both packs got to put their team working skills to the test with the Paper Plate Shuffle challenge. Congrats to our new Sixers, Rachel and James, and new Seconders, Dylan and Sophie for successfully bringing their packs through this. Then it was on to some programme planning for the coming months and some games to finish. Looking forward to the upcoming Halloween party with Thursday Cubs next!
