What's the right age to start becoming a trendsetter in farming? Well, as it turns out, you can start at a quite young age!
Meet Purity Woki, a 20-year old energetic leader and entrepreneur.
Purity is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Development Studies at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.
She is a talented pastry chef with vast knowledge in baking queencakes and cakes for commercial purposes.
In addition, she is growing strawberries using a technique called 'multi-storey garden farming.'
These entrepreneual ideas came about when she realized she can do more on food production to curb hunger and utilize space when it comes to Agriculture.
The multi-storey garden farming technique is not limited to any crops and it is as well economical. Urban farming for her is a challenge that people who live in these areas have to take up and embrace in order to have mass production.
These are some of the lessons we need to take up especially during the Coronavirus pandemic. We can find something to do which is innovative and will save and secure the future.
Join us this Tuesday 23rd June, as Purity takes us through how can achieve sustainable development and the means to improve our livelihood to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own socially, economically and ecologically.
