Attended today, the house-warming ceremony of Top Musical Artist Pokot Boy, at his new home in Mnagei, Kapenguria Constituency.

The event, which brought together family, friends, relatives and neighbours, was also attended by Hon. Joseph Lobot, the Governor of Amudat in Uganda.

We congratulate Pokot Boy for this milestone, and pray that his new abode will be a source of unity, love and many cherished moments.

Earlier on, I attended the Kenya Red Cross Society - West Pokot Branch Annual General Meeting at Kapenguria, Kapenguria Constituency.

The Kenya Red Cross Society, an organization with a vision of being a leading humanitarian organization sustainably promoting the wellbeing, health and resilience of communities, has being doing a great work in West Pokot County, especially in coordinating different emergency responses such as floods, collapse of gold-mines, fires and insecurity in the border regions.

As a life member of the Kenya Red Cross Society, I will always strive to make my contribution in its activities and in promoting its Mission and Vision.

I celebrate my birthday today with gratitude and self-reflection and introspection.

The anniversary of the day I entered the world has provided me with a great time to ask myself questions like:

Am I living the life I truly want to live? What's most important to me? Am I fulfilling my purpose in this world? Am I giving enough back to others and to the world? What do I want my legacy to be? — weighty questions that I will mull over as I sort through my self-discovery and figure out what's next and my personal development.

I pray that the new year brings forth more blessings, more opportunities, new achievements and may I always be of positive impact to my community, country and the world at large.

Happy Birthday to me!

On Thursday, 21st March 2024, we continued with our empowerment and mentorship programmes with Charlene Ruto with a visit to Komol Primary School, Chemochoi, Kapenguria, where we engaged two schools. At Komol, we began with a tree planting exercise to mark the International Day of Forests. We then engaged pupils, teachers and the residents at the school.

Thereafter, we visited Tartar Primary school where we met with students from seven schools.

We then paid a visit to the County Blood Bank at Makutano town, Kapenguria. Ms. Charlene is a blood ambassador.

Later on, we attended the Football Match between Keringet FC and Kamorrow FC at Makutano stadium, a match that ended 1-0 with Keringet FC winning the match. As the sponsors of the match, Charlene and I awarded trophies, Cash Prizes and Sports Jerseys.

We then finalized the day with a dinner meeting with the North Rift Valley Waters Works Development Agency at Eka Hotel, Eldoret ahead of the World Water Day.

We were accompanied by Mr. Bill Chelilim, son to Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Chelilim, Mr. Kevin Muthini from the Office of the Governor Mombasa County and a team from Smachs Foundation led by its CEO Mr. Nathan Kikwai.

Development and empowerment programmes are collective responsibilities that require concerted efforts of all of us — Government, Partners and citizens. This is key in accelerating the growth of our economy and uplifting the lives of our people.

It was a great honour to host my friend Charlene Ruto today, for a series of empowerment and mentorship programmes, with our first visit being to Ptoyo, Endough Ward, Kapenguria Constituency, West Pokot County.

We later visited Adurkoit in Riwo Ward where we engaged and issued certificates to bee keepers who had undergone training on bee-keeping for two days, sponsored by Smachs Foundation in which Ms. Charlene is the patron.

Afterwards, we visited Kapenguria Museum for her to have a look of where the Kapenguria Six were incarcerated and also learn the rich Pokot culture.

With us were Mr. Bill Chelilim, son to Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Chelilim together with other members from Foundation led by its CEO Mr. Nathan Kikwai.
