I have been doing full leg and alternating with a full upper body workout for a while now. I have noticed
this has helped with creating balance with time and making sure I get at least
two weekly workouts of each muscle group per week which is more effective.
Here is a home workout I did and wanted to share. If you donโt have any weights your bodyweight is just as good. Or you can get creative
and fill up containers with water as your weights. Or use resistance bands.

How do you justify spending money on a wellness coach or life coach, a personal trainer, a gym membership, yoga studio membership, various healers, guided meditations/breathing exercises, 100 different books plus the time to read them, if you barely use it?
๐จ Why's it so nerve-racking to โtry something new out of your comfort zoneโโ?
Is the constant battle to be in charge of your life and health, really worth it?
Can you really get to be a beautiful BadAss Goddess without feeling overwhelmed or thinking you are not capable or not worthy?
๐ค And when should you take me-time to do meditation or some kind of self healing practice to evolve and grow into that inner Goddess within you?
๐ค Should you even focus on yourself even when your limiting beliefs of, I am NOT worthy, NOT perfect, NOT capable, NOT good enough. Or you think you donโt belong or something from your childhood is telling you that you are insignificant?

And, while I don't claim to know it all, I HAVE personally been in that same spot. And yetโฆ
Not that long ago, I was in your shoes.
Those early days were rough.
I'd take a step forward only to take three more back. I was drowning in my limiting beliefs but as well finding something that would stick to the lifestyle I desired.
I was on autopilot, gained weight, had NO life goals. In a new country with no family and friends around and finding out I have a kidney disease which was my WAKE-UP call. All I could find on the internet was horrific worst case scenario of my disease. I didnโt know where to start or what to do. I was freaking scared of what kind of life I could have and questioned myself โwas I TRULY able to achieve a healthy good life?โ And after starting off with a few physical goals of changing my eating habits, and completing a few mini triathlons and then making the biggest change in my life at that point was changing my career from office administration into health and wellness. And from their I had done many courses/workshops personal and professional, reading so many books and learning through my own journey and experiences as well my own clients and students through their journey with me. And this is where my inner โBadAss Warrior Goddessโ came through!!

When it comes to your drive it's not about our muscle behind it. What I mean is your elbow grease toughness, our muscle strength, as it's more about your mental state of mind. This comes from our limiting beliefs that are sitting in our subconscious mind that has been manifested from our past experiences that we hold on to.
These limiting beliefs are in the past and who we are now are not the person in our past. Unless you are holding on to the past and allowing those past experiences that created the limiting beliefs to be the driver in all your life choices. Or did you choose to have learned from your experience and allowed yourself to have grown and evolved as a person?
The people who choose to not allow past experiences to be the driver (limiting beliefs) tap into the soul and spirit toughness is learning to let go of the past and allowing themselves to learn from it and grow their mental state of mind.
One of my big moments in my life that was tragic at the time was when I was at my lowest point in my depression as a teen, This is where the self-talk was manifested from my subconscious mind limiting beliefs of โI donโt belongโ, โI am not worthyโ. I made an attempted to take my life. I could have stayed in that traumatic state of mind but with time I learned, it was a wake-up call and not a way for me to live my true desired life. This did not happen overnight but with time and hard work put into a healing and growth journey, my soul and spirit became the backbone of the state of my mind.
And what I love is that this journey is still going with each day that passes.

Since January 2021 I have started a little experiment since I had been joining in with my HIIT class twice a week, which the members love. โค๏ธ
As Iโve workout lots on my own.
And then about two months + ago I also started working out with a male friend of mine 1-2 a week.๐๐พ
Then started working out with once a week with a female work colleague. ๐คผโโ๏ธ
And lately been doing a 10min walking handstand practice 1-2 times a week after class with a few of the members. ๐คธ๐ปโโ๏ธ
And what I love about working out with different people is the benefits of it. They come in all shapes and sizes. And will vary on the person as well as their niche of workout and experience. ๐ฅ
I have learned so much already about myself and seen my fitness levels grow.
This is why I think working with a personal trainer, yoga teacher and wellness coach is vital. We think we are alone and need to do it on our own. Just as the animal kingdom shows us we are stronger in a pack!! ๐ช๐ผ

When we are thinking about our intake of your macros. What most people do not realize is we need to increase our veggie intake. Fiber helps regulate the carbs we eat. So as long you do not have gut issues with fiber, add it to ALL your meals, even breakfast.
Though most carbs are broken down into sugar molecules, which helps our body to access a quick source of energy.
Fiber cannot be broken down into sugar molecules, and instead, it passes through the body undigested. Fiber helps regulate the body's use of sugars, helping to keep hunger and blood sugar in check.

โข 3.5 oz. (100g) black rice noodles
โข 7 oz. (200g) **turkey fillet, chopped
โข 1 broccoli, diced into florets
โข 1 tbsp. olive oil
โข 4 tbsp. soy or tamari sauce
โข 2 tsp. sesame oil
โข 1 tbsp. rice vinegar
โข 1 tbsp. grated ginger
โข 2 tbsp. spring onion, chopped
handful coriander, to serve
๐ฟ๐๐๐๐พ๐๐๐๐๐:
Cook the noodles according to the instructions on the packaging. Strain and rinse with cold water, then set aside.
In a wok or deep pan, heat the olive oil and fry the turkey for about 3-4 minutes. Add in the broccoli florets and fry for another 1-2 minutes. Next, pour half a cup of water and 3 tbsp. of soy sauce, then cook until all the water evaporates and the broccoli is tender (about 10 minutes).
In the meantime, mix together the remaining soy sauce, sesame oil, vinegar, grated ginger, and mix well.
Once turkey and broccoli are ready, add in the cooked noodles and heat it for a 2-3 minutes. Take off the heat, pour in the sauce, and gently mix.
Serve with chopped spring onions and coriander leaves.

** if you are not able to source out turkey you can replace it with chicken.

Do you avoid core workouts?
The core is important to do daily as when we do anything from the gym resistance training to picking up our kids, to doing chores around the house, to doing outdoor activities we need to do the movement from the core. You need to activate your core. What I call cinching in. The steps do to this are below.

When it comes to morning self-love routines, they will look different for each person. ๐ป
When looking at what successful people do in the morning to set them up for the day are things like gratitude writing, journaling, meditation, reading (self-development books), affirmations. ๐
Why they do this is about changing your structure on how you think about yourself, growing your knowledge to be the best version of yourself.
๐ฆThis time-lapse video is showing you a portion of my morning routine, which is sorting out my liquids to consume for the day, making sure Iโm well hydrated, take my supplements, read out loud my choices of how I live my life from my heart (these are a form of affirmations).
I start a little movement on my balance board as I wait for my bulletproof coffee to blend away. I do also do gratitude writing, mediation, write out my daily intention, a reflection of the day before and I also create some kind of movement from HIIT, to weight resistance, to yoga, to mobility and muscle activation work.
My challenge for you is to sit down and create your morning self-love routine that will set you up for the day.
Do it for a consecutive 21+ days and then do a self-check-in on how you feel. Reflection without judgment is a key element to inner growth.

Self-respect and self-confidence go hand in hand. When we look at ourselves in the mirror and put ourselves down with limiting beliefs like;
I am not prefect
I am not good enough
I am not worthy
This is not giving yourself any self-confidence which is also self-respect. This comes from past experience(s)/trauma that have happened to bring on these limiting beliefs. But remember this is in the past.
To change this, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself what you love about yourself, not just what you look like but things you have a passion for and/or good at. Do this everyday while you brush your teeth. And if you brush your teeth twice a day like me, do it twice a day.
The key is consistency and doing it every day even on the days we feel like s**t. Yes, it will be hard at times but what is harder makes us stronger.

Hydration Wave time is one of the selfcare pillar I am really passionate about. As our bodyโs are made of 70% water it is vital we keep up with hydration as it helps our body function.
Like our blood ๐ฉธis 90% water. Which if we donโt drink enough water the it will make it more thick and slow flowing.
Like when I first learned about my kidney disease my hydration was s**t. The blood lab test attendant (apologies not sure what to call them) would give me a hard time as my body is not easy to get blood from so this would makes it harder.
The blood stream is also how our hormones travel through the body. So this would affect this as well.
That is one of many ways how hydration affects our body.
Now letโs talk about the quality of water. This is just as vital because otherwise we are adding more chemicals and and increasing the acidic into your body. If you are on city water it will be filled with chemicals from the process plant.
But what our body needs is a good source of water that is hydrogen-rich, Electrolysed Reduced Water to help reduce oxidative ground stress to the body.
Think about this, when we are wanting our body to detox we need a good source of water to do that. Real good hydration is the key component to all cellular detox.

I LOVE a good sweaty ๐ฅต high intense workout. This is great on building your cardiovascular fitness as well building muscle.
Though when we do this day in day out, and for the ladies that power through their start of their menstruation๐ฉธthis is you included, we need to create balance with other types of movement by having low impact days.
Like for example on this day of movement I pulled back on the intensity. And focus was working on my strength of my quads, mobility in the knee which is also using strength in the legs and flexibility in my ankle and knee joint. As well my flexibility in my quad muscles.
By creating balance with my movement options in my workout helps;

lower injury rate

brings awareness to foundations
โ
creates balance in the body and mind
โ
switching things up also lowers hitting a plateau
Different type movement elements are;
- mobility
- flexibility
- strength
- cardio
All of these can be done either with body weight or adding weight to it. And trust me when your doing stuff like animal flow, yoga or Pilates you still get a great workout just on a different level. And for those that are stiff this will be hard option at first but once you do it regularly it will become easier.
So switch it up by having a mobility/flexibility day one day and the next a high intensity day followed by a strength day after that.
When we bring balance into our workout then it will ripple into other parts of our life!

Selfcare comes in all shapes and sizes.
There is no right or wrong way. There is a mindset though for you to open and try new things. When we create change, that is including trying something you never have done before. It creates a ripple effect in your state of mind as well as your life structure and the way we once may have perceived things or event made a negative judgment on it.
For example Iโm 43 and have never gotten my nails done before. I gotten many pedicures but not nails. And I have never spent the money to get my hair style either. As well never a spray tan. And decided to get this done for an awards dinner I was going to. And for anyone that knows me this is not me. But I took myself out of the norm and did what I call โbeing girlyโ. As Iโm the other way, more of a hippie, tomboy which is what my friends call me. ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Well at this point Iโve gotten my nails done and spray tan done. And LOVED every experience of it. It was fun, relaxing, lots of laughter and joy. Which this how I CHOOSE to live my life. I made some new connections and grew some old connections. And to be honest I feel my inner GODDESS coming out. Which is another side of me I donโt see very often.
This has made me think why have I been avoiding this?
Now my challenge for you is to try some form of selfcare that you would not normally do. Or have some kind of negative judgment to. Like I did about getting my nails done.

For the longest part of my life I HATED my curls. Thought they were ugly, fuzzy, puffy and felt ugly with them.
But in the past 6+ years I have changed my inner story. And in stead I have been embracing them with unconditional love.
Learning how to work them and use products to make them pretty. I love them and give them the moisture it needs to keep them healthy.
We should be doing this approach about ourselves in all levels. Not just about the physical part but our inner deep soul too.

In this picture Iโd just climb to the top of a hike, I did 1,600 stairs sweaty as but still smiling. People passed by comment on my smile in one way or another. To me I was happy as Iโm in the beautiful nature of New Zealand, creating movement with my body and with like minded people. So Iโm in a win, win place!!
When it comes to how we see ourselves and how people see you will be different. And we will never see what that person sees.
What brought this up is what a friend said to me.

And that has planted the seed of seeing myself differently and starting the process letting go of the limited beliefs I am saying to my self like;
I am not prefect
I donโt belong
I am not capable
I am not worthy
I am insignificant
These are not just MY limited beliefs but everyoneโs. As they are manifested from either our upbringing, something negative that was happening repeatedly or a trauma of some sort big or small.
The first step is writing down what are your limited beliefs and start to find the root cause. Awareness is the key to this step.
