Gratitude post.

I am grateful to all the people who have fought for the freedom of their families and country, especially the ANZACS. I recognise their efforts trudging, running, screaming, bleeding, crying and praying through terrible things I don't want to experience. the horror of it all, the aftermath of post traumatic stress, guilt, all of it.

My thoughts these last few days have been on those who didn't go to the battles. Those who remained at home...during the ravages of war, not hearing from loved ones...not knowing if they ever would...never knowing what is really going on "over there"...then IF their loved one returned...were they injured? How to cope...provide? My grandmother was one of those who remained at home...I am confident (Growing up seeing her good character) that she did what she could for the war effort, then when my grandfather returned..."Wally left for the war, and the devil returned" is how I remember the quote from his mum...my grandmother kept everything together, raised two beautiful daughters, and shared her love and talents with us, the grandkids...all the while my grandfather, who was always good to me, strove to deal with the demons the war had torn into his soul.

I am grateful for all the "Nana's" who kept it all together in their lifelong, largely unrecognised war on the past they couldn't see or touch, and often wouldn't be spoken about. They were the strength of our nation, and they led us into a brighter future, after the damage was done.

So A little get away with the wifey to Rotorua for work...Had a look at Lake Tarawera for a bit of a snorkel but it didn't look great...so we snuck over to Taupo and did a river drift dive. My drybag turned out to be not so dry...will see IF I can get any of the predive pics from my phone in the coming days...However, this is where we dropped in, and where we got out. Was great and we will likely do it again when we pass through.

2 minutes a piece on cardio followed by one controlled set of 20 on the cable crossover ...gym...tonight you won (my planned 30 second transition stretchedout to nearly 90 seconds)...but I can't wait for the rematch!

New toy going in...

Hehe, chatting with a client mid workout this morning talking about one machine not picking up my heartbeat properly last night and his comment between breaths..."Oh...you have a heart?" Couldn't help laughing. What can I say? Hehe, I love my job.

Funny little observation from the end of the day...just finished a rotator cuff and posterior core session tonight, and whilst walking through the supermarket felt absolutely bulletproof...so there you have it, training helps everyone. On a side note, if you train and feel bullet proof...in these modern times...maybe still consider running away from them if the occasion arises...just saying 😂

What a difference a colour change makes! Previous colour...dark...now the space is much nicer!
