Whānau Āwhina Plunket has been a trusted support for families across Aotearoa New Zealand for over a century. Many of us have received expert care from our local Plunket nurse in those early days with baby, or even as a baby ourselves.

And thanks to the wraparound care for the whole whānau that Plunket provides, we’ve been able to connect with each other through many playgroups and parent groups - coming together over a cuppa and a story shared.

Now we're asking our local community to come together this September to keep Plunket’s services going strong! Come along to our Dunk it for Plunket Community Morning Tea fundraiser at Collective Community Hub to support Plunket's community services in Wellington.

We'll have some morning tea treats thanks to Arnott's Biscuits some delicious home baking and a raffle to help us raise as much as possible.

Please email [email protected] for more information (or to donate your time, baking skills, or raffle prizes) 😊

Winter is here and so are the seasonal coughs, colds and bugs 🤧

Here are our top tips for caring for sick tamariki:
💦 Give your child plenty of fluids (they may not be hungry)
🛌 Allow extra rest and provide extra comfort
🏠 Keep your child home from playgroup or preschool so other kids don’t get sick
😴 Rest when your child rests, so you can catch up on some sleep too

Seek urgent medical help by calling 111 for a baby or a young child if you notice the following:
o They have a headache, stiff neck, and a rash
o They have sudden and severe tummy pain
o They are floppy, irritable or not responsive
o They are having difficulty breathing.

Head to our website for more information about caring for sick tamariki: https://bit.ly/_caringforunwelltamariki
