Applications now open.

We are looking for people to facilitate our Te Reo Hauora programme in schools in the Wellington region. We know there are many powerful ways to work with young people, so we welcome people with experience as sports coaches, trainers, teachers | kaiako, kapa haka tutors, youth workers, counsellors or mentors for rangatahi.

You will be responsible for the delivery of Te Reo Hauora in 2-4 schools alongside one of our current Pouako.

Me mahi tahi tātou hei oranga mō te katoa” ~ We must work together for the wellbeing of all!

Hauora Aotearoa, a charity leading generational change, seeks a Pouako | Facilitator to address the wellbeing crises among rangatahi and teachers. Our programme, Te Reo Hauora, blends Te Whare Tapa Whā with Western brain science, teaching daily hauora tools to kaiako and rangatahi. Our goal is to reach 50 schools annually by 2026.

Introducing our tīma…

Iwi: Te Ātihaunui-a-Pāpārangi

Amazing news e te iwi. Our beautiful friends over at and their community raised $3873 through their Sunday Koha Class to support our kaupapa.🫶🏽✨

Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏽

Our deepest gratitude to all those who contributed and especially to for choosing us as your Jan/Feb non-for-profit recipient.

Your koha will go directly towards supporting our kaupapa to be in schools teaching rangatahi tools to increase their resilience and nurture their hauora. Helping them to live well, learn well, lead well.

Tēnei ka mihi kauanuanu ki a koutou katoa te hāpori e āwhina mai nei. Ngā mihi o te ngākau 🫶🏽

Ngā mihi tino nui to our friends over at Engage Play for inviting our Pouako to play and learn all about tākaro Māori this weekend at their wānanga with the super inspiring

We had so much FUN reconnecting with our own ira tākaro and hearing the stories and whakapapa of how our tūpuna embedded this play into all aspects of their life… honouring the ira tākaro within our tamariki and nurturing their natural movement as a way to fine tune their pūkenga and teach resilience.

We can’t wait to incorporate all we learned into our Te Reo Hauora sessions with our ākonga.

Check out our stories for some highlights and laughs from our weekend. 😂☺️

“If the wairuatanga of our tamariki is supported FIRST, it drives academic success.” Ange Moko.

Tā Mason Durie describes Wairua as a felt experience, beyond explanation with words… it’s when you feel your spirit lift.

Taha Wairua practices are different for everyone, some find that Wairua lift in cultural practices, in karakia or waiata, others in watching the sun rise in the morning.

Te Reo Hauora (our 10week in school kaupapa) gives our rangatahi a chance to explore what being well in their wairuatanga looks and FEELS like, for themselves. It provides our kaiako with practical tools to create Wairua uplifting environments in school. And it gives our ākonga a chance to share what they’ve learned with tamariki at a local early childhood centre.

To all our generous donors, Hauora Aotearoa extends our sincerest thanks and appreciation for your generous contribution to our recent pledge drive in collaboration with over Christmas.

Deep bows to Tim Ferris for spearheading this campaign. We were unable to reach our goal of $25K, but we are eternally grateful to Tim and his team for the awareness created for our kaupapa (programme).

Your support is vital in advancing our mission to drive generational change so our kaiako (teachers) and rangatahi (youth) can live, learn, and lead well. By donating, small or large, you are championing our next generation of leaders to survive and thrive. Amazing!

Your koha (donation) will help us deliver our ten-week Te Reo Hauora (the language of wellbeing) programme to disengaged youth. At a time when Aotearoa (New Zealand) has a wellbeing crisis, we can’t wait to get started in schools in a few weeks.

That means that today’s youth will have the tools to navigate life’s challenges, no matter how tough. That’s the future we want to create! A generation of self-aware, emotionally-intelligent leaders, standing in their full potential!

To every one of you again... thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kia pai te tau e tū mai nei e hoa mā - Friends, I wish you all a wonderful year filled with joy, prosperity and continued good health.

Mauri Ora!

21/12/2023

To all our ākonga(students) & kaiako(teachers) we have had the pleasure to serve this year… thank you for entrusting us to tautoko(support) you with your wellbeing.

It’s been a massive year for HĀ

We’ve grown our whānau(family) welcoming new team members who are passionate about supporting wellbeing in schools.

We’ve relaunched from M3 mindfulness to Hauora Aotearoa, shifting to non-profit in order to serve more schools across Aotearoa.

We’ve refined our kaupapa(program) and made it more robust, grounding everything we do in the holistic Whare Tapa Whā(four walls of wellbeing) framework.

We’ve been gifted a new call to action from Sir Mason Durie… Live well, Lead Well, Learn well. And we’ve had wānanga(deep discussion) about how we best support our school communities to do just that!

We’ve held wānanga with rangatahi(youth) to make sure we understand their wellbeing challenges, re-shaping our kaupapa around their feedback to make sure the program we deliver is rangatahi informed.

We’ve continued to upskill ourselves in many areas from mātauranga Māori(indigenous knowledge) to trauma-informed practice, to sharing practices that uplift each other’s wellbeing.

We’ve started our campaign of raising funds to help us continue to help our rangatahi and kaiako in 2024 & beyond (link to donate in bio)

We’ve spoken at events & run workshops about mental health and youth wellbeing all around Aotearoa & even across to Australia.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY we’ve seen our rangatahi grow in confidence, resilience & emotional awareness. We’ve supported them with tools and experiences to help them stand in their mana(power), to thrive in their rangatiratanga(leadership) & to be WELL.

We couldn’t have done any of that without you, our kura(schools) from the far North to the deep South who’ve said yes to our call to;

Live well, Learn well, Lead well.

Thank you for being on this journey with us.

Our team wishes you all a safe, joyful & restful holidays. See you in 2024.

E te iwi - kia haumaru te noho ki te taha o tō koutou ake whānau. Nui te aroha nā mātou te tīma a Hauora Aotearoa ki a koutou kātoa x

We help your school;
with improved behaviour, engagement, attendance, achievement and by providing a safe way to build te reo and tikanga into classroom practices.

Formely M3 Mindfulness, over the last 51/2 years our impact has included working in 800 schools and with over 70,000 people.
