Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City, one of the most popular festivals in the Philippines will be having it's Opening Salvo tomorrow, January 12, 2023.

COORDINATION MEETING| FSUPT KIM M CELISIO, Iloilo Provincial Fire Marshal, together with Municipal Fire Marshals of Pavia, Sta. Barbara, Cabatuan and San Miguel Fire Station attended the meeting with the personnel of Iloilo International Airport Aerodrome Rescue and Fire Fighting Service (IIAAR&FFS) to discuss the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between BFP 6 and the IIAAR&FFS.

The said meeting was held at the Passenger Terminal Building Conference Room at the Iloilo International Airport today, 10 January 2024.

PCOL RONALDO P PALOMO, Provincial Director, PNP Iloilo; FSUPT KIM M CELISIO, Provincial Fire Marshal, BFP Iloilo; and JSSUPT VICENTE P PAPELERA, Provincial Jail Administrator, BJMP Iloilo, conducted New Year's Call with Governor Arthur R. Defensor, Jr. at Office of the Governor, Iloilo Provincial Capitol dated 09 January 2024.

DEPLOYMENT| Opening Salvo of "Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan 2024"

Twenty-five (25) BFP6- Iloilo Province personnel, headed by Iloilo Provincial Fire Marshal, FSUPT KIM M CELISIO, were deployed as Fire and First Aid Service Team during the Opening Salvo of Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, 05 January 2024 at Iloilo Provincial Capitol Grounds and Calle Real.

Our firefighters were on standby and always ready to respond in case of emergency.

"Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan" is the festival of festivals showcasing a Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo through its culture, customs and traditions.

Grand Opening Salvo will be held on January 5, 2024 and Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan Festival Tribes Competition will be on January 27, 2024 at Iloilo City Calle Real.

In preparation for New Year's festivities, BFP6 has been on high alert since December 23, 2023, as part of the Oplan Iwas Paputok campaign. Records from the Office of Fire Safety Enforcement Division, Regional Office BFP6 reveal that 772 local businesses have been issued Fire Safety Inspection Certificates to retailers and distributors as well as firecracker manufacturers, ensuring compliance with safety standards for firecrackers and pyrotechnics.

To enhance safety, the selling and making of these items are confined to specific areas authorized by local authorities. BFP personnel are actively monitoring these zones to enforce safety requirements.

Directed by FCSUPT JERRY D CANDIDO, BFP6 Regional Director, standby firemen are enforcing a strict no-smoking policy, prohibiting the testing of fireworks in designated areas, and preventing potential spark hazards. These measures aim to minimize fire risks and prioritize public safety during the festive season, emphasizing a commitment to community well-being.

Furthermore, the public is strongly urged to prioritize fire safety measures for a secure and joyful celebration. Let us collectively commit to being responsible citizens by observing the following fire safety reminders:

PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST CY 2023

DAY 1| BFP 6 Iloilo Province personnel, conducted Physical Fitness Test (PFT) for CY 2023 on December 28, 2023.

Exercises performed are the following:
Hose Carry
Push-ups
Sit-ups; and
Endurance run.

This aims to ensure a high standard of physical fitness and readiness among its member.

BLESSING AND COMMISSIONING OF NEW FIRE TRUCK OF GUIMBAL FIRE STATION

Today marks a turning point for Guimbal Fire Station as the Blessing and Commissioning of New 1000 Gallon Isuzu Fire Truck took place at Brgy. Bagumbayan, Guimbal, Iloilo on December 20, 2023.

This celebration, incorporated with the blessing of National Child Development Center and Ambulance were graced with the presence of distinguished guests, FCSUPT JERRY D CANDIDO, DSC, Regional Director, BFP 6, FSUPT KIM M CELISIO, Iloilo Provincial Fire Marshal, Cong. Lex Anthony Cris Colada, Rep. AAMBIS-OWA Partylist, Hon. Christine S. Garin, Vice Governor, Hon. Janette Garin-Colada, Municipal Mayor of Guimbal, Iloilo.

The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Ricky Gubac.

This new asset to the Bureau of Fire Protection is giving high morale to our firefighters. It's favorable not only for the fire station but also to the people of Guimbal and it's neighboring municipalities.

This is to inform the community of the Oplan Paalala-Iwas Paputok of the BFP this holiday season. Also, to encourage the public in prioritizing their safety in celebrating the Christmas and New Year.

Bureau of Fire Protection- Iloilo Province has recorded 39 fire incidents in year 2020, 59 on 2021, and 57 on 2022, all happened in the month of December.

3 common causes of fire are:
- Electrical ignition caused by loosed connection
- Ignition of Materials from Ember/Flying Ember or Alipato
- Electrical ignition caused by Arcing.

This Yuletide season, may each of us do our part in keeping our home safe from any fire incidents.

Sixty-seven (67) newly graduates of Fire Basic Recruit Course (FBRC) from CL 2023-122 "Class Marig-on and CL 2023-122 "Class Hirang-alab" has finally deployed at different fire stations in the Province of Iloilo today, 11 December 2023.

BAGONG PILIPINAS SERBISYO FAIR

Office of the Iloilo Provincial Fire Marshal, under the leadership of FSUPT KIM M CELISIO joins the "Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair" service caravan on 09-10 December 2023 at Guimbal National High School, Guimbal, Iloilo.

This country's biggest service caravan aimed to provide and bring major government services closer to various communities.

In this activity, the Bureau of Fire Protection offers services such as assisting queries for the requirements of possible resolutions of any pending application for Fire Safety Inspection Certificate, Fire Safety Evaluation Clearance and other Fire Safety Clearances.

Office of the Iloilo Provincial Fire Marshal, under the leadership of FSUPT KIM M CELISIO, Provincial Fire Marshal, conducted Internal Audit on the proper profiling and safekeeping of records particularly on Fire Safety Evaluation Clearance (FSEC), Fire Safety Inspection Certificate and other related documents in all stations under Iloilo Province dated 05-06 December 2023.

Bonifacio Day commemorates the birth of Andres Bonifacio on November 30, 1863. He was a Filipino nationalist and revolutionary and considered a national hero. He was called as the "Father of the Philippine Revolution".
