Valley Perspective is the only campus newspaper from the Cordillera to receive top awards in the secondary division in the recent National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) in Carcar City in southern Cebu.
The NSPC stands as the top journalism competition for both private and public elementary and secondary schools in the Philippines.

Four students from Benguet National High School (BeNH) have brought pride to the province after winning a Silver Medal at the 13th Regional Congress Search for SEAMEO Young Scientists (SSYS), held from June 10-14, 2024, in Penang, Malaysia.
Carrie V. Tolentino, Glenzy Rose M. Marcos, Juh Rhyzzyll D. Lingaling, and Carla Joy A. Rafanan earned the award with their project titled "Solar-Powered IoT-Based Hydro Management System (S.I.B.O.G.)." They were accompanied by their coaches, Imelda Espiritu and Eugene Espiritu.
Their project stood out among 159 entries from different countries in Asia. All of which had pre-qualified for the competition.
Benguet Governor Dr. Melchor Daguines Diclas, who provided financial assistance to the students before their journey to Malaysia, extended his congratulations to the students and their coaches through his executive assistant, Dr. Ryan Guinaran, who attended the awards ceremony.
The competition, organized by the SEAMEO Regional Centre for Education in Science and Mathematics (SEAMEO RECSAM), aims to promote innovation among students from SEAMEO member countries.
This year's theme for the SSYS was "Youth for One Health through STEM Innovations." // SAP Jr.

APPLICATION FOR THE BENGUET NHS STEM QUALIFYING EXAMINATION IS NOW OPEN! (For non-BeNHS Completers)
To all incoming Grade 11 students who wish to enroll in STEM Strand this coming school year, the Benguet National High School STEM Qualifying Examination application is NOW OPEN!
Who may apply?
An incoming Grade 11 student for the school year 2024-2025 who earned a general weighted average of 85 or higher in Grade 10 and has an average of 85 or higher in Math and Science.
Application will END on Thursday (May 23) at 5:00 PM through the attached link.
The Qualifying Exam for non-BeNHS completers is scheduled for May 25 (Saturday) at 9:00 AM at the SHS-Academic Building.
Note: This application is for non-BeNHS students ONLY.

BeNHS's School Congress and 2nd Quarter Card Showing
School congress promotes a sense of community by bringing stakeholders, students, teachers, and administrators together to collaborate for common goals. School Principal, Ma'am Bivian Cuh-ing reported the current status of the school as to enrollment, personnel, physical facilities and accomplishments from the different priority programs of the school.
PTA president, Engr. Henry. Mayangao reported the initiatives of the association in helping the school in funding the different activities not included in the work financial plan chargeable against the school's MOOE.
Various stakeholders were also recognized for their untiring help in addressing the needs of the school.

Braving the Chill
Benguet NHS personnel actively participated on the first day of the Mid-Year In-Service Training Program from January 24 to January 30, 2024, despite a chilling temperature.
Teachers and Non-teaching staff attended the continuous professional development sessions prepared for them. Attendance to In-SeT is paramount to ensuring the success of both teachers and students in the delivery and attaining quality basic education.

Shifting away from traditional pen-and-paper formats, paperless examinations leverage digital technologies to streamline the entire assessment process. It does not only contribute to environmental sustainability by significantly reducing paper usage but also enhances the efficiency of exam administration and grading.

Benguet NHS joins the nation in conducting the โDrop Everything and Readโ sessions today at the computer laboratory. The sessions provide dedicated time for learners to immerse themselves in the world of literature, cultivating a love for reading and fostering the habit of it without using gadgets and computers.

"Environmental Creativity Takes Center Stage: BeNHS's Trashion Show Shines Light on Sustainable Fashion"
In a colorful display of innovation and environmental consciousness, Benguet NHSโs trashion show brought together learner-designers, and environment conscious individuals to celebrate the event which was held today, December 14, 2023 at the schoolโs covered court. The event, showcased stunning creations crafted entirely from repurposed materials and recycled items.
The runway was transformed into a platform for artistic expression, as learner-designers unleashed their imagination, turning discarded materials such as plastic, plastic caps, newspapers, CDs, and even old sacks into breathtaking couture pieces. From glamorous gowns adorned with intricate beadwork made from bottle caps to avant-garde ensembles constructed entirely from upcycled cloth, each creation was a testament to the limitless possibilities of creativity and ingenuity of our learners..
