PwC Philippines Chairman Emeritus and Isla Lipana & Co. Foundation President Alex B. Cabrera led a team of volunteers to give cheers and support to the children and staff at CRIBS Foundation, Inc. in Antipolo City on 21 August 2024. This was held ahead of 23 August, his actual birthday.
After years of giving attention to various beneficiaries, it was the first time for the Foundation to visit Alex’s hometown of Antipolo. He learned more about CRIBS and its commitment to the care and development, healing and recovery of children in need of special protection. The child welfare agency cares for surrendered and neglected infants for reunification with their original families or for placement with adoptive families, and rehabilitates female minor survivors of sexual abuse.
He and his team toured the babies’ area where they briefly played with children aged 1 to 7 years old. Then a class of young girls aged 7 to 17 years old created simple clothespin puppets with the team and gave him their birthday wishes through songs, messages and friendship bracelets. The team then served rice meals and spaghetti for lunch to all the children and staff. Following CRIBS’ wish list, the team through the Foundation gave diapers, milk formula, rice, medicine, vitamin supplements and toiletries as well as cash donation.
