Professor Julio Teehankee received the 2024 Outstanding Book Award of the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST).
We congratulate Professors Julio Teehankee and Cleo Calimbahin for winning the NAST award for their book "Patronage Democracy in the Philippines: Clans, Clients, and Competition in Local Elections."

We are pleased to offer an undergraduate elective course for IS and non-IS majors.
Course Title: Multiculturalism, Languages, and the Global Society (ISMULAN)
This course discusses the role of multiculturalism and multilingualism in the quest for development and sustainability in contemporary global societies.
International Studies students may also choose from the list of elective courses offered by the College of Liberal Arts.

We were pleased to host Sarah Tiffin, the UK Ambassador to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations last October 19, 2023.
Ambassador Tiffin discussed UK's regional priorities and the agenda of the ASEAN-UK Partnership including women and girls’ education in ASEAN, trade in goods and services between the UK and ASEAN Member States, law enforcement intelligence exchange and operational cooperation and women in diplomacy.
Students that are not enrolled in Geopolitics (Sections A51, A52 and A53) and Introduction to Global Society (Section A51) are requested to register if they are inclined to attend.

We thank Mr. Karl Michael Din from Bohol Island UNESCO Global Geopark and Mr. Gavin Michael Cubillo from Bohol Arts and Heritage Council for delivering informative lectures.
We also thank Mr. Jairus Ismael Chiu and Mr. Dignity Lagunay from Kabiling Lunhaw (Youth Environmental Organization) for inspiring our students by sharing their advocacies.
