Kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng Pananampalataya at mabuting gawa

Ang temang ito patungkol sa kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng pananampalataya at gawa ay isa sa “vital aspect” ng Christian Theology na kadalasan ay misunderstood. Marami ang nagsasabi na ang kaligtasan ay sa pamamagitan ng doktrinang Faith Alone, na kung saan ito naman ay mali. Ngunit, sa artikulong ito ay ating ipapaliwanag na ang kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng Pananampalataya at Mabubuting gawa ay Biblical at ipapakita natin na ang argumentong kaligtasan sa pananampalataya lamang ay mali.

Isa sa mga talatang ginagamit natin upang maipakita ang kahalagahan ng Pananampalataya at Mabuting Gawa, ay ang nakasulat sa Santiago 2:14-26, na kung saan si Apostol Santiago ay nagtuturo na ang “pananampalataya na walang gawa ay baog…” at “ang mga demonyo man ay na nagsisisampalataya at nagsisipanginig”. Ang tunay na pananampalataya ay ipinahahayag sa pamamagitan ng gawa. Kaya nga sinasabi din ni Apostol Santiago na “Nakikita mo na ang pananampalataya ay gumagawang kalakip ng kaniyang mga gawa, at sa pamamagitan ng mga gawa ay nagiging sakdal ang pananampalataya.” (Santiago 2:22). Ito ay nagpapahiwatig na ang pananampalataya at mabubuting gawa ay magkasama, at ang mabubuting gawa ay isang kailangang-kailangan na aspeto ng buhay Kristiyano.

Ang doktrinang Faith alone ay sablay dahil binabalewala nila na ang pananampalataya at gawa ay magkasama. Ang sinasabi ni San Pablo sa mga taga Efeso 2:8-9 ay kalimitang namisinterpret lamang at sinasabing ang mabubuting gawa ay hindi na kinakailangan para sa kaligtasan. Ngunit, kung babasahin natin ang context ng talata, makikita natin na magkaugnay din ang pananampalataya at mabubuting gawa. Sa Efeso 2:10 “Sapagka’t tayo’y kaniyang gawa, na nilalang kay Cristo Jesus para sa MABUBUTING GAWA, na mga inihanda ng Dios nang na upang siya nating lakaran.” Idagdag pa natin ang nakasulat sa Tito 3:8, na sinasabi naman ni Apostol San Pablo na “…upang ang mga nagsisisampalataya sa Dios ay maging maingat na panatilihin ang mabubuting gawa.”

Importante na maunawaan natin na ang mabubuting gawa ay hindi ang paraan ng kaligtasan, kundi ito ay ebidensya ng kaligtasan. Ang mabubuting gawa ay nagpapakita ng pananampalataya natin sa Dios at ang pagmamahal na mayroon tayo sa ating kapwa tao. Bilang mga Kristyano, kapag tayo ay nagpapakita ng mabubuting gawa, tayo ay nagdadala ng karangalan sa Dios. Ating tularan ang Panginoong Hesus na dumating dito upang maglingkod at hindi upang paglinkuran.

Sa pagtatapos, and kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng pananampalataya at mabubuting gawa ay Biblical. Ang mabubuting gawa ay isang kailangang-kailangan na aspeto ng ating buhay Kristiyano, ngunit dapat itong laging dumaloy mula sa pananampalataya. Hindi tayo makakamit ng kaligtasan sa pamamagitan ng mabubuting gawa, ngunit ipinakikita nito ang ating kaligtasan, na nagpapatunay ng ating pananampalataya sa Diyos. Itinuturo sa atin ng Banal na Kasulatan na ang pananampalataya na walang gawa ay patay, na nangangahulugan na ang tunay na pananampalataya ay walang alinlangan na sasamahan ng mabubuting gawa. Samakatuwid, ang anumang argumento para sa pananampalataya lamang ay isang maling doktrina na nagwawalang-bahala sa mga makabuluhang turo ng Bibliya tungkol sa kahalagahan ng mabubuting gawa para sa mga Kristiyano.

Sa mga pagbasa at ebanghelyo ngayong Linggo, makikita natin na ang misyon ay hindi laging nakabatay sa lakas, tibay, at kwalipikasyon ng misyonero. Naging tapat ang Panginoon kay Propeta Ezekiel na hindi magiging madali ang maging propeta sa isang bayang napatapon sa Babylon. Kahit si Apostol Pablo na nabiyayaan ng mga karanasang panlangit na hindi niya sukat maipaliwanag ay nabigyan ng tinik sa laman (thorn in the flesh)

Upang hindi ako magmataas dahil sa kalakhan ng mga pahayag sa akin, ibinigay sa akin ang tinik sa laman. Ito ay sugo ni Satanas na magpapahirap sa akin upang hindi ako magmataas. 2 Cor. 12:7

Ang Panginoon naman ay di tinanggap sa sariling bayan dahil di nila sukat akalain na ang isang karpintero ay magiging isang propeta tulad niya.

Nga pala pasintabi po sa magsasabi na may mga kapatid kay Inang Maria ang Panginoong Hesus. Linawin natin na ang salitang Griyego na ginamit ay adelphos ἀδελφὸς na pwedeng gamiting kapatid o pinsan sa contexto nitong mga talata sa Marcos kabanata 6

Ezekiel wrote from exile between the first and second invasions (586 BC). Even then it was a task to keep people from sin and even false worship. They even went so far as to accuse God of charging them with the sins of their ancestors . And they felt they were safe as long as they had the temple. In exile they cherished hopes, aided by false prophets, of a quick return from exile.

Ezekiel, whose name means “God makes strong,” lived and preached during the time of the Babylonian Exile, a calamitous period in the history of Israel marked by political and spiritual desolation. A major theme in his writings is the comparison of Israel to an adulterous bride, due to her repeated infidelity towards Yahweh.

SPMS celebrates 78th anniversary!!!

Saint Peter's Men Society (SPMS) invites all Catholics and members to join the humble celebration of its 78th anniversary in defending the Catholic Faith—following the footsteps of St. Peter. The event will take place at the St. Benedict Building, 4th floor, Quiapo Church in Manila

This year's theme, "Blessed are you," emphasizes the spiritual rewards and joy that Jesus promises to those who follow God's will. In light of this, the celebration will commence at 2:00 pm and will continue onwards.

SPMS is a Quiapo Church based apologetics organization founded in 1946 by the late Gregorio Santos backed by a core group of Catholic Defenders of the Faith including George Mendoza. Currently, the mission of courageously defending the faith, yet practiced with humility, has spread through the aid of online platforms. Online members have undergone a series of spiritual formation before being admitted into the organization; enriched with the necessary values parallel with the organization's goals.

The anniversary celebration serves as a means for members and attendees to renew their commitment to defending the utmost values and teachings of the Catholic Church— reliving the mantra "Cum Petro et sub Petro."

Ang tanda ng krus ay sagisag ng Kristiyanong pananampalataya. Maging bilang bahagi ng gusali o sa pag-aantanda - ito ay isang konkretong tanda ng pananalig kay Jesus ang Kristong manunubos na Diyos Anak ng Santisima Trinidad.

Dito nagkakatalo kung sino talaga ang matatawag na binyagang Kristiyano. Ang Kristo na hindi Diyos Anak ng Santatlo ay hindi ang Kristong tinuturo sa Ebanghelyo na ipinangaral ng mga apostol at ng Simbahang tatag nila.

Ang Sabi ng mga Mangangaral ng Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) na ang Hebreo 4:9 ay "seventh day" kung kaya't ang tinutukoy dito ay Sabado. Ito ang sinasabi sa talata:

"May natitira pa ngang isang pamamahingang sabbath, ukol sa bayan ng Diyos." (Hebreo 4:9 TAB)

Nang sabihin anila ni San Pablo na ang lahat ng mga gawain patungkol sa mga Sabbath ay anino lamang, ay iniwan anila ang ikapitong araw o sabado upang ipangilin ng sanlibutan at gaya ng pagpapahinga ng Diyos sa ikapitong araw ay dapat anila na mamahinga din tayo gaya Niya (Hebreo 4:10-11)

Ang aking tugon:

Hindi natin tuwirang tinututulan na ang "Sabbath ay nanatili pa ring banal at patuloy na may bisa. Ngunit hindi na ito araw ng Sabado kundi ibang araw na. Nang ipangako ng Diyos ang bagong pakikipag tipan ay ganito ang sinabi Niya kay Propeta Jeremias:

Narito, ang mga araw ay dumarating, sabi ng Panginoon, na ako'y makikipagtipan ng panibago sa sangbahayan ni Israel, at sa sangbahayan ni Juda." Jeremias 31:31

Malinaw na sinasabi ng talatang ito na magkakaroon ng bagong pakikipagtipan ang Diyos sa sambahayang Israel. Ito ay kumukunekta sa sinabi sa Sulat sa mga Hebreo (4:7) na muling magtatangi siya ng isa pang araw, bagaman ikapitong-araw ay hindi na Sabado. malinaw na sinasabi na Muling magtatangi ng isa pang araw, at sa talatang "8" ay ganito ang pagbibigay diin:

"Sapagkat kung ibinigay sa kanila ni Josue ang kapahingahan, ay hindi na sana niya sasalitain pagkatapos ang ibang araw."

Alam natin na ang Araw na pinili ng mga Judio sa pagbibilang ng ikapitong araw ay Sabado. Ngunit sa talatang nabanggit ay mayroong "ibang araw" na binanggit, Ibig sabihin, hindi na ito ang araw na pinili ng mga hudyo kundi ibang araw na. Sa madaling salita ay hindi na sabado.

Marahil ay ating tatanungin, ano nga ba ang dahilan kung bakit hindi na Sabado? Sa Mismong sulat sa mga Hebreo ay makikita na din natin mismo ang kasagutan.

"Dahil dito ay nagalit ako sa lahing ito. At aking sinabi, laging sila'y nangagkakamali sa kanilang puso: Ngunit hindi nila nangakilala ang aking mga daan. Ano pa't aking isinumpa sa aking kagalitan, Sila'y hindi magsisipasok sa aking kapahingahan. (Hebreo 3:10-11)

Ganito din ang sinasabi sa Hebreo 8:7:

"Sapagkat kung ang unang tipang yaon ay naging walang kakulangan, ay hindi na sana inihanap ng pangangailangan ng ikalawa."

Ngunit, muli ay maitatanong natin, kung may kakulangan dito ano ba ang sapat o kumpleto?

Ang sinasabi sa Hebreo 8:8 ay ganito:

"Sapagkat sa pagkakita ng kakulangan sa kanila, ay sinabi niya, narito, dumarating ang mga araw, sinasabi ng Panginoon, na ako'y gagawa ng isang bagong pakikipagtipan; sa sangbahayan ni Israel at sa sangbahayan ni Juda,"

Ang ikapitong araw o Sabado ay kasama sa mga niluma. At ang nagiging luma at tumatanda ay kupas na (Hebreo 8:13)

Ang kakulangang ito sa Unang Tipan ay pinuno ng Bagong Tipan. Kaya nga Sinasabi sa Katesismong Katoliko tungkol sa Sabbath ang ganito:

"Sunday is expressly distinguished from the Sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath. In Christ's Passover, SUNDAY FULFILLS THE SPIRITUAL TRUTH OF THE JEWISH SABBATH AND ANNOUNCES MAN'S ETERNAL REST IN GOD..." Catechism of the Catholic Church #2175

Malinaw po ang katekismo ukol sa usapin ng divorce. Ang mga statements ng mga theologians mula sa Ateneo-KUL ay hindi katolikong pananaw. Nilinaw naman nila sa kanilang pahayag na ito raw ay hindi religious issue kundi isang public issue. Hindi raw po ito tungkol sa sacramentality ng marriage.

Mahirap pong paghiwalayin ang kasal sa mata ng Estado at ng Simbahan. Bagamat maaaring tingnan sa sibilyan na pamamaraan ang kasal tulad ng mga civil marriages. Alam natin na suportado ng Saligang Batas at ng ating Family Code ang doktrina ng Iglesya Katolika ukol sa Sakramento ng Kasal.

Tama po si Senate President Escudero na dapat palakasin ang proseso ng annulment ayon sa Family Code dahil alam natin na maraming ikinakasal ngayon na halos wala nang faith component at nauwi na lang sa epekto ng mga maling pagpapahalaga (values) at makamundong mga paniniwala.

Mahalaga rin po na tayong mga laiko ang dapat tumutok at magsalita ukol sa mga usapin ng diborsyo.
