As part of the celebration of Indigenous Peoples Month, the League of Political Science Students will conduct an activity to celebrate the rich heritage, culture, rights, and contributions of Indigenous people with the theme, "PAGKAT-ON: Mobilizing Community and Policy Support for Indigenous Rights."

Let us take this opportunity to learn, to help, and to safeguard the rights of our beloved IPs. This activity will surely build a future that values and uplifts those in the minority. As students of Political Science, we all know the difficulty of raising the rights of marginalized sectors. The struggle is challenging, but our commitment to justice makes it worthwhile.

Together, let us build a community where every sector is heard, every problem is addressed, and no one is left behind.

𝗗𝗜𝗟𝗚 𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗼𝗻, 𝗘𝗖𝗟𝗜𝗣 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗠𝗨 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀

In its quest to ensure effective and wholistic reintegration of former rebels (FRs) in their respective communities through the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (ECLIP), the DILG Bukidnon and ECLIP Committee, convened with faculty of Central Mindanao University (CMU) on Friday, October 25, 2024 at Regidor’s Country Home, Valencia City, Bukidnon, where developed localized modules for deradicalization for former rebels were presented.

These modules encompass five (5) components namely: psychosocial, moral, spiritual, ideological and physical, will be utilized in the Province’s Halfway House (Balay Ta Kalinaw) starting November 2024 where interventions for FRs from different agencies will be carried out, in preparation for their reintegration into their respective committees.

The collaboration with CMU and other partners involves the creation and implementation of a deradicalization modules, which is set to be formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). This project underscores commitment of the government agencies to ensure effective reintegration of FRs, fostering long-term peace and stability in the community. (𝘋𝘐𝘓𝘎 𝘉𝘶𝘬/𝘚. 𝘈𝘭𝘣𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘦/𝘈𝘊. 𝘗𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢)

Our esteemed faculty from the Political Science program, Prof. Anna Girlee Visayan, alongside Ms. Rhiza Mae Asoy, recently served as resource speakers at the BUSCO Supervisory Union's Annual Labor Seminar.

During the event, Prof. Visayan and Ms. Asoy expertly delivered a lecture on the fundamentals of the Parliamentary procedure, enriching the knowledge of BUSCO's labor union members in terms of conducting an orderly, ethical and appropriate meeting. This speaking engagement demonstrates how CMU's academic expertise extends beyond our campus walls, contributing to the professional development and lifelong learning aspirations of various organizations in our community.

We commend Prof. Visayan and Ms. Asoy for representing CMU and sharing their valuable insights with BUSCO Supervisory Union members!
