In this project, we will be showcasing the stories of three individuals who represent different industries in our country and how they fared before and during the pandemic.

Mang Juan will be telling us his perilous journey in the e-commerce industry and how he managed to make the most out of his options in order to continue his business.

Hazel will be showing us the struggles of the Telecommunications industry and how she has been putting on long hours of work just to keep our digitalized life up and running.

And finally, Mariel will be describing the current state of the Tourism industry and how she managed to stay in the business.

In line with other student leaders and colleges who have the ultimate goal of ensuring the welfare of their academic unit, we deeply support the call to !

The University of the Philippines administration announced that we will continue as scheduled on February 7. While there is a two-week period free of synchronous classes and deadlines, this adjustment does not absolve the responsibilities and pressures placed on students and faculty to comply with and craft and release learning material. Even undertaking this adjustment would lead to a compressed semester with both the student body and faculty pitted against each other in an attempt to comply with the stringent and inconsiderate expectations set on them from the refusal to move the semester.

As we start the third year of the Covid-19 pandemic and as the Omicron variant brings back tremendous spikes in cases, we call to move the start of the second semester in order to prioritize health and welfare now. We are urging the University to heed the call for academic ease by adjusting the deadline for the submission of grades to February 11, 2022 and the opening of classes to February 21, 2022.

The catastrophic effect of the virus is greatly felt in the CBA community — with our own students, faculty and staff infected or exhibiting symptoms — rendering them incapable of performing normally. The idea that students and faculty can go on with no rest has taken a toll on many. Being continuously burnt out despite physical and health repercussions is not the kind of excellence we wish to implore in the University.

We call on the University to put its students and faculty first as it implements genuine health breaks for all. Now more than ever, it is of utmost importance that the University heed its constituents' cries and stay true to the values of honor and excellence that it champions.

We ask that our beloved University extend the same consideration to its stakeholders — the level it expects its graduates and academe to exemplify.

Ready to join UP IBA?

Here's what to expect from our application process to better aid you!

1. Your main activity as an applicant is to submit a project proposal related to the thrust of the organization. This will be assessed by the executive committee. The project proposal will help us understand your vision as an advocate. This proposal requires you to comprehensively plan a project using the template that will be given to you and this includes setting feasible goals and objectives, lay out specific tasks, and project assessments with great attention to detail.
2. You are required to finish the sig sheet. This includes information about the organization and its members.
3. You are required to attend the following events: (1) 1st Capacity Building Session, (2) 2nd Capacity Building Session, (3) Applicant’s Night, and (4) Final Interview.
4. You will also be organizing your Applicant’s Night with your fellow batchmates.

We value your safe spaces. Please don’t hesitate to tell us if there is any part of the application process that you are having difficulty with.
