"May Buhay sa Basura ng Barangay Projectโ: Barangay Talipapaโs Circular Economy Practices
Recognizing waste as a valuable resource, the Barangay has taken extra step in efficiently managing its waste by promoting its Circular Economy Program, constituting various resource recovery activities and strategies which have significantly reduced waste generation in the barangay and diverted 50% of waste from being dumped into landfills.
The May Buhay sa Basura ng Barangay Project is twin-focused on the end goals of (1) making the barangay a clean and green community through proper waste management and promotion of waste segregation at source, and (2) providing its residents with food security and livelihood. It goes beyond making significant effects on the environment as it also develops a sustainable alternative source of food and livelihood from wastes collected in the barangay. Hence,
