My new collection was created using real sand from the beaches of Portugal. Each piece holds a memory of a profound moment in my life, and each is an l invitation to ground yourself in the present while cherishing the past.

Just like sand, the moments we remember are treasure - the ones that shape us, good or bad. Their memory may be fleeting, but their impact stays with us forever. These moments remind us of who we are, where we come from, and the beauty in the smallest, simplest things.

With this collection, I wanted to capture the essence of those cherished memories - giving you a tangible piece of time, grounding you in the now while connecting you to the beginning of everything.

The day of my solo exhibition ‘Perfectly Unbalanced’ is fast approaching. The new paintings created solely with my non-dominant hand tell the story of the transformation we go through when our world turns upside down and we have to rise from it, stronger and more resilient.

Someone who viewed my art last week wrote to me about this painting that it truly made him feel that without darkness we cannot notice the light. That we all go through darker times in our life and maybe that notion alone offers us some comfort. I agree.

And this is why I created this painting - “Darkest Hour” - at a time when I barely managed to see any light, when it was easy to just give up and stop fighting for what I wanted. I want this painting to be a reminder for anyone who feels this that it’s always darkest before the dawn. You’ll get through it, no matter what. ❤️

A question I’ve been asking myself since I was 14:

Is life pre-determined or do we have a free choice?

I was educated in a religious school and one of my favourite classes was Jewish Philosophy, because that was the only class (besides art) where I was allowed to ask my ‘rebel questions’, discuss our human existence, and it was thought provoking.

Don’t get me wrong - all my teachers believed that our life is already determined, written down somewhere. One of them said to me: it’s like watching a film you’ve seen before. You already know how it ends.

That really frustrated me as a teenager. It made me feel like life is pointless. Where’s all the excitement of life if it’s all known already?

I decided back then I don’t know the answers and I want to search for them myself. Over the years, I’ve learned that regardless of faith, the real choices we make in life are when something happens TO us and we need to react.

Just like my injury, I could have chosen to stay down and cry and moan about it, cancel my upcoming exhibition and stop painting for a while. But I didn’t.

I believe that the difficult moments and challenges life throws our way are opportunities. We can choose whether to build resilience, to rise and become a bit better version of ourselves.

Whatever your answer to this question is, don’t let life happen to you. Make your choices to live and enjoy life, face those challenges, be a better you.

When you are on your true path, doing what you love and want, life makes so much sense. 💫
