To Danisha, our resilient champion,

It is with a heavy heart that we are coming back home from the Olympic Qualifiers in Bangkok without the golden ticket for you to compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics. I felt a crushing feeling when the decision was announced at the end of our fight against Mexico. I can only imagine the pain you must have felt at that moment and still feeling now.

Not getting through the qualifying round does not diminish your accomplishments. In fact, it highlights the level of competition and the incredible effort you put in to reach this stage. You have faced many of the best in the world and held your own. You don’t make excuses, you don’t quit, and no matter the disadvantage or circumstance, you bloom wherever you are planted.

Danisha, you are a warrior. Your journey is a testament to what can be achieved through relentless effort and a never-give-up attitude. You’ve shown everyone what it means to be truly dedicated to a goal. Your stories and experiences have inspired and will continue to inspire others to aim higher and push harder, knowing that the path to success is paved with challenges and that each setback is an opportunity to grow stronger.

Danisha, sometimes I wonder, why do you choose to fight? After years of training and going to competitions with you, I’ve learnt that what makes you keep going is your “why”. Your “why” has always been bigger and more than just about yourself. You fought not just for yourself but for your family, the country and those who want to be on this path as well. You made this your calling. Your conviction.

Your wins have given us the courage to continue fighting on. Your setbacks have given us strength to come together and come back stronger. Without you realising, you play a big role in uniting and growing the Singapore Boxing Community.

I am lucky, and proud to be your coach since 2014.

Over the years, you’ve carried the weight and pressure that’s put on your shoulders with so much grace. Take a rest (probably won’t take long cos you get bored of normal human activities quickly) and know we got your back. Till the next one!

Unfortunately I won’t be in their corners but I have no doubt in my mind they will be able to showcase the Legends style of boxing tomorrow night. Hi Boxers/ Coaches/ Team Managers,

Leyendas Promotions and .promotions are working together to hold a boxing event, ‘Brawl for it All’, on 18th May 2024 at Foochow Building.

We will be holding up to 22 amateur boxing bouts from 1pm - 5pm. Weigh ins and medicals will be in the morning of 18th May itself, 8am - 9am, at Bedok Sports Hall. The bouts will follow IBA rules and this event is sanctioned by Singapore Boxing Federation (SBF).

I’ve included the registration link for your boxers who are keen to participate. Please register any time from 1st - 14th April 2024 via link in bio.

After registration closes, we will do the match ups immediately and update the boxers and participating gyms accordingly, as soon as possible.
