Rest is important. Most motor skill learning happens during sleep.
Tell me, on a scale of 1-10 how do you rate your sleep. 1 being no quality sleep, often waking up, never enough sleep. 10 being 7 hours optimum, wakes up fresh and ready to go!..
Our bodies adapt to our lifestyle. Hence, the quote, “Fitness is a way of life”
There are countless occasions where i’ve heard one saying it’s difficult to keep the weight off, or their weight just comes back twice as fast as it took to lose it.
There are numerous reasons and school of thought on this matter. My explanation is quite simple, it’s because many don’t realise once you embark on a journey on improving your health and fitness, it is a journey that has no end and is a constant evolution where as soon as the body adapts to the current stresses you’ll find yourself reaching a plateau and having to push either harder or changing the whole routine. Fitness then becomes a part of one’s life, and when something becomes part of your life, you will never have time to do it, you’ll make time for it. That is, if it’s of any importance to you.
Adaptation occurs 6-8 weeks of consistent 3-5 times weekly dedicated training. To maintain a healthy looking self just keep going, make it part of your daily so much that when you miss 1 you’ll feel as though your day is incomplete. Just like a relationship.😉
You should listen to your individual bodies, when there is a certain pain in a particular region, never ever ignore and try to work with it or around it, rather, you should work on it.
Pain doesn’t mean totally immobilise, more often you’ll have to mobilise and treat, work to a point of mild discomfort every time pushing it back to its normal range as the body’s 1st line of defence is to lock muscles up, you will have to unlock them. Ignorance will only leave it as is and body will recruit other muscles within its chain to support the overall movement. This will potentially tighten other muscles and will be the beginning of postural issues. All due to one muscle that you had ignored but felt its calling some time back.
Painkillers are not your way out ... embrace the pain and work with it.
Thank you Nasri Syed for the a** release! Hhahaha
Foam Rolling - many have heard, done and known about it, but... how many have really understood the many different “why’s” of incorporating it as part of training?
If you do understand the concept, why you do it or why you don’t, tell me more, with a “yes” or a “no” and a brief explanation if you don’t mind, i’d like to hear from you...
21/90
21 days makes a habit
90 days it becomes a lifestyle
A good or bad one? Its totally up to you.
Between the easy way and the hard way, go for the right way..🤭😉
At the end of the day, its not just how strong you are, its how long can you last... last nights crew at bedok stadium!
The importance of a strong but balanced back from left to right to me is an utmost must. This goes especially if you are a taller individual. As the number of bones in your spinal column is the same no matter your height, which means simply, taller people are more prone to back related injuries.
The mind works best when the body is in motion.
Determination has its costs, but hey, what’s life without any cuts and bruises right cuzz?
You don’t realise how important your grip strength is until you’re told to “get a grip”! Hah!
It was an and this ladies were killing the hiit! Got me breaking a sweat! weds at Dancevault Hiit2Fit 6.30pm
Earlier on kungfu hustle heroes at Stadium! Blood, sweat and tears! All laughs at the end! Hah!
Come on down weekly at gate 14 7pm to 8pm.
Last night’s sweat crew! Did you even know that sweating is a sign that your body is functioning well? Its our natural cooling system when our core temperature rises. Just like the radiator coolant in car, when engine gets hot, fans come on to keep it cool.😉
Parents, listen up. We all know what we want for our kids, simply said, the best of everything, right? But you really giving them the best?
If you’re like me, you would have noticed that as time passes by, kids this days are actually getting smaller in built. Do you really think this is genetics at play only? Think about our days back in school, we had so much extra curricular activities. Example, football, netball, Badminton, NCC, Scouts etc. Don’t you think those stresses we placed upon our body impact our size and built of today?
Remember, the human body adapts and forms itself to best suite your lifestyle.
You are the sum of what you do. Kids in future will be the sum of what they do today.
Imagine, the sum of sitting down and playing games all day. 😳
This is how much your hip position affects every other part of your body. Its all connected.
Its always good to understand your own body, because “to each is their own” and Everyone is different and does things differently. When its personal it begins with a SMART- Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Realistic. Timed program designed for you and only you.
Its way better when we fit together..! Strength in numbers, because we go further when we go as a team.
