MBF Gambler at horse trials on his way to a 28.5 in the Open Modified. His dressage has been improving as he’s gotten stronger- some of it due to age and some due to training. Hopefully I can keep him fit with the help of my trainer and friends while I recover from the broken ankle.

Mittens gets a piggy back ride from Elle at ! Perfect weather for dock dogs !

Elle got her 2nd poodle today- Mitten’s niece. Mitten’s sister Fancy is the mom. The irony is we reached out to Mitten’s breeder and she was no longer breeding but her daughter was. Her daughter usually breeds standard poodles but we were told that Fancy was possibly having her first litter planned. When we reached out to she confirmed they planned to breed Fancy. She said the only problem was that they had moved from CO to NC. No problem at all as we moved to SC! Elle got first pick of the litter and she picked the smallest female now named Maizey.

And, yes, we picked her up and . And yes, we took her to the Reptile Lagoon.

We stopped at and found teeny tiny sombreros for the chihuahuas!!!!!

For Fathers Day we dropped Elle at marine biology camp, then and I (and the chihuahuas) had lunch at the dock and bought some carnivorous plants. Be back in Aiken by the evening!

The boys are back! After at least a month off, MBF Reality (Elf) and MBF Gambler went to for the schooling dressage show. Gambler ended 3rd in the Prelim A and Elf has a sane warm up I was deeply proud of but was quite bouncy in the canter during the test. BUT what I learned today is Elf LOVES the large arena and beat Gambler in the 2* test! I was riding Elf in that test thinking of big things! Wonderful day and so thankful to a friend for reading the tests for me.

MBF Reality. It’s a small thing but I love seeing his ears in this photo. When we looked at him on the livestream in the auction, I paused the video because I swore his ears turned in. And they did! I named him Elf then- before we even bought him.

Elf is working to make my dreams a reality. Through all his chaos and quirkiness, he also tries hard. At the clinic, Grant said “your horse tries very hard doesn’t he (insert Elf buck/spook at the worst moment), and he also tried to do what he wants”. True statement- but when he pulls it together, he’s unstoppable.

Good job Elf on your win at your first prelim last weekend. We’re all watching you and enjoying the ride too.

MBF Reality (Elf) won his first Prelim today in the Open Prelim division at Sporting Days Farm. He only added a bit of XC time. Good boy Elf!!!

MBF Gambler ended 4th in the Open Prelim today as well. He had the only double clear XC round.

Now we have two prelim horses!!!!

Also, thanks to Wendel Mobile Equine Vet, Adrienne Hillas-Seidenglanz and Matt Burdick who got me and the boys through 6 rides in 2 hours. Go team go!

And we still made part of the Strawberry Festival fundraiser at Elle’s school. Now to see a few horses and go to dinner!!!!! ❤️ Aiken

When the circus calls and needs a health cert for their ponies…. goes to the circus! First time I’ve temped ponies wearing glitter. The performers welcomed us in to watch from VIP and we got to go back stage and hang out with them and their animals.

Great weekend at ! Both horses finished on their dressage scores in a large Open Modified division- with Gambler in 3rd on a 26.9 with the fastest cross country round of the day! Elf ended in 8th on a very respectable 34.1. So pleased with them both. Thanks for the help today! And and for the impromptu help yesterday!
