Juneteenth is the oldest internationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free. This was two and a half years after President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation. Today, is celebrated as a federal holiday. How are you celebrating?

Members of Atlanta Association of Legal Administrators (AALA) joined together on Saturday to volunteer their time and service at Grace Community Food Pantry. They spent the morning dividing and bagging up produce into smaller quantities for families in need. Grace Community Food Pantry's mission is to involve, educate and unite people in the work of ending hunger in the Atlanta area. They serve between 85-125 families each week.
