Our MBA students recently had the opportunity to tour The Water Tower and the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center seeing firsthand how cutting-edge water technology and sustainable practices can shape the future of water management.

Calling all bilingual Emory University students!

We are looking for 15+ undergraduate or graduate students to work with specialty coffee growers in Latin America (Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Colombia) as they develop their farm stories through Professor Peter Roberts’s 3-credit Directed Study taking place in the Spring 2025 semester.

This learning experience is ideal for those passionate about the intersection of business and society who have cultural familiarity, Spanish language proficiency, and creative skills. Those who participate in the Spring 2025 directed study will receive top priority, along with a travel subsidy for either the January 2025 trip to Honduras or the March 2025 trip to Guatemala.

MIINT is an experiential lab designed to provide students at business schools across the nation a hands-on education in impact investing over the course of a full academic year. Teams present recommendations to the judging committee composed of industry leaders for a potential investment of up to $50,000 in a social enterprise of their choice.

The Institute is collaborating with the Goizueta Energy & Clean Tech Association (GECTA) to sponsor “fireside chat” dinners for students to meet and learn from Atlanta area professionals including many Emory University Goizueta Business School alumni.

This year’s dinner series kicked off with great conversation with alumni now working at Southern Company and MEAG Power. Our students learned more about the power/utility space and some of the challenges it faces with unprecedented demand growth from increased electrification, cloud computing, and AI.

REMINDER: BBA (Juniors & Seniors) applications are due by tomorrow (10/4) for our Social Enterprise Fellows Program, a cohort based program, that recognizes Business school students who demonstrate both a deep interest in social and/or environmental impact and commitment to the Institute’s work.

Those selected as Fellows have access to the hands-on education, exposure and experiences to develop their capabilities to serve as effective changemakers for business and society in the private, public, and nonprofit sector.

Selected students will be onboarded to the Fellows program in mid-to-late October and continue participation through their graduation from Goizueta.

The Institute team including social enterprise student fellows, faculty / staff, and alumni joined with Southeast community (which B Lab noted is now 289 certified B Corps strong) for the BLD SE Conference this week in Atlanta!

We were proud to team up with our friends B Local Georgia and B Academics to sponsor BLD SE's Fireside Chat with Professors Christopher Marquis and Jessica Thomas.

Each attendee received a copy of Professor Marquis' new book, The Profiteers, which highlights the innovative work of many forward-looking business leaders who are taking novel actions to reimagine business operations in responsible ways.

Emory University Goizueta Business School MBA students marked their return to campus with a day of service in partnership with an amazing group of local nonprofit and social enterprise organizations from across the metro Atlanta area.

A longtime tradition, this year’s Keystone Day of Service included volunteer projects hosted by the the following organizations:

Flowing with Blessings, Zoo Atlanta, Amico Farms, Atlanta Children's Center, Atlanta Community Food Bank, First African Community Development Corporation, New Life Community Alliance, and Trees Atlanta.
