{B.B.A. in Risk Management & Insurance}
❤️ GSRS program: What I loved most about the Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science (GSRS) program under the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University was the intentionality of those involved to bring students to understand what industry they were facing after college, and how they can be more involved in that industry prior to graduation. It was truly a great honor to have been cared for so well by the staff and have been given so many opportunities to set myself ahead in my career.
👩🏫 Favorite Professor: Professor Ryan Grelecki, Harold Weston, and Jim Presmanes are the three professors that immediately come to mind. They were so passionate about what they taught. Despite having vastly different styles, they all made insurance something that could be truly fascinating on a daily basis.
😁 Scholarships Received: AXA XL scholarship
🎓 Current Role: I am a Technical Assistant at Amwins Insurance Brokerage.

If you are interested in ANY form or Risk Management and Insurance form of industry – actuary, insurance agent, broker, underwriter, anything – JOIN THIS PROGRAM. They will absolutely take care of you and most importantly you get what you give. If I could go back and do it all over again I would’ve joined day one and tried my best to be on the board and as involved as I could possibly be.
🗯 Final Thoughts: HUGE thank you to Grelecki, Weston, and Presmanes for their enthusiasm, kindness, and genuine care throughout my college career. Also, a huge thank you to AXA XL for their scholarship! I could not be more grateful for the opportunities afforded to me because of these people.

✨ Meet Norma Maldonado - 2023 Graduate ✨
{B.B.A. in Actuarial Science}
❤️ GSRS program: The sense of community is a simple way to encompass the opportunities presented to me, whether it was through scholarships or internships opportunities, there was the constant support from the program. It was also the involvement from faculty and staff that made my experience more than memorable, the student community such as the organization was a community that helped me with my professional and personal growth.
👩🏫 Favorite Professor: Yes! Ryan C. Grelecki, J.D. was and still is my favorite professor at Georgia State University in the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University. He was my favorite professor because of his deep passion towards student and their progression. I had never seen a professor as involve and committed to students support as well as development as he is. He is not committed only during the undergrad program but his work as the faculty advisor for Gamma Iota Sigma, Zeta Chapter allows him to continue to be involved post grad and that is a level of passion and commitment that I have not seen before. Now that he is the director of external relations for GSRS, I want to continue to be involve with the program as an alumnus and continue the relationship that GSRS has with my company.
😁 Scholarships Received: I received the State Farm Enrollment scholarship, AXA XL scholarship, and the WSIA (Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association) scholarship.
🎓 Current Role: Currently, I work as a casualty associate underwriter at Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance.
