It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of a remarkable soul, Ms. Hermeyone Bell.

Hermeyone was not just a member of our Planning Council; she was a beacon of hope and a pillar of strength within the Planning Council, Atlanta Area Outreach Initiative (AAOI) and the broader HIV Care and Prevention community. Her unparalleled dedication and compassionate service have left an indelible mark on the lives of People Living with HIV in the Metropolitan Atlanta area and beyond.

For over two decades, Hermeyone graced us with her unwavering commitment, her profound kindness, and her exceptional professionalism. She led by example, serving as the chairperson of the Planning Council Membership Committee, and a member of the Quality Management, Comprehensive Plan, and Assessment Committee.

Her voice was one of advocacy and empowerment for individuals living with HIV, reflecting her deep-seated belief in dignity, equality, and care for all.

Hermeyone's journey with us was one of inspiration and light, particularly in moments that seemed insurmountably dark. She was a cherished health care provider who brought an invaluable wealth of knowledge and skill, enriching our council and the community at large. Hermeyone's leadership and active participation in the Atlanta Area Outreach Initiative, formerly known as the African American Outreach Initiative, from its very inception, underscored her passion and dedication to making a difference.

As Hermeyone ascends into eternal peace, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of having shared this journey with her. She was a luminous presence, a guide through the darkest of places, and a true embodiment of kindness and professionalism. Hermeyone, thank you for everything. Your legacy will forever illuminate the path forward in the fight against HIV, inspiring generations to come.

We mourn her loss deeply but celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless lives she touched. Hermeyone Bell's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us in our ongoing mission to serve and support those affected by HIV. In honoring her memory, let us renew our commitment to the cause she so passionately championed and strive to uphold the values she exemplified.

Hermeyone, will be profoundly missed, but never forgotten.
