The 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero was designed to be a space that allows people to come together and commemorate that day as a community. It was also designed by a Georgia Tech alum. Michael Arad witnessed the attacks from the rooftop of his Manhattan apartment not long after completing his master’s degree in architecture at Tech. His design was chosen from thousands of submissions and is meant to be a space for visitors and New Yorkers alike as a living part of the city.

Every year on September 11, a group of Georgia Tech students places 2,977 flags on Tech Green to commemorate and honor the lives lost on this day in 2001. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Georgia Tech Neuroscientists Explore the Intersection of Music and Memory | Research 08/23/2024

Music can provide the soundtrack to our lives, but what kind of music might help us learn? Georgia Tech researcher and neuroscience Ph.D. candidate Yiren Ren has discovered a link between music, memory, and visual learning. Ren's findings suggest that the familiarity a person has with music may help β€” or hinder β€” our ability to remember and learn.

Georgia Tech Neuroscientists Explore the Intersection of Music and Memory | Research In two studies, Ph.D. student Yiren Ren's research explores music’s impact on learning, memory, and emotions.
