Today was a good day. We gifted a pair of brand new Starkey Hearing to a Holocaust survivor. His family was thrilled when he left us hearing much better than when he arrived! It’s the best kind of appointment. JF&CS Atlanta

Last week, Argenbright Group’s Unifi and Velociti teams gathered for their Fun Friday team-building activity, and we're honored to have been a part of it!

The teams created 250 personal hygiene kits for patients served at our Ben Massell Dental Clinic. BMDC is Atlanta’s only completely FREE, all-volunteer dental clinic providing comprehensive care. The kits included toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, nail clippers, deodorant, and more.

We know our BMDC patients will be so grateful for the products, and we appreciate everyone from the Argenbright teams who participated last week!

A few moments from Holocaust Survivor Day, earlier this month. Our JF&CS Holocaust Survivor Services team, of Aviv Older Adult Services, joined survivors at City Springs Theatre Company for an extra special lunch to celebrate life and enjoy entertainment! Thank you Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta and thanks so much to Cherie Aviv for her generous support💚

JF&CS will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. We will reopen on Thursday, June 20th.

Juneteenth is a day to remember and honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States in 1865. It is believed to be the oldest holiday celebrated by the African American community since 1866 and was proclaimed a national holiday of observance on June 17th, 2021.

Samantha Freeman, MS, CPG, CDP, is a Case Manager for Aviv Older Adult Services, and she recently completed an 11-week course with The Eden Alternative. Samantha is now a Certified Eden Associate!

🌟Shining Stars 2024 Staff Appreciation Meeting🌟

Beginning the meeting with beautiful opening words from Rabbi Judith Beiner, we then witnessed Tamara Cain win the first Libby Sherman JF&CS Core Values Award, heard staff members share their memorable moments, and then ended the morning by acknowledging milestone achievements.

It was a day filled with gratitude, reflection, and a delicious kosher breakfast from Annette Marcus catering at Congregation Or Hadash. Thanks so much for hosting us. Today was a profound reminder of why we’re all here and how lucky we are to be in such great company.

Congratulations to Tamara Cain, Residential Manager, for being an example of our core value, HOPE⭐️ Her commitment to creating positive experiences for both clients and colleagues stands out, and we couldn’t be more proud to present her with this award.

A very special thank you to Meredith and the Mendels for sharing their family story, making an impact, and helping us shine a light on our staff in a new way. It was an honor to have them present today and hear their heartfelt words about Libby Sherman. May her memory be a blessing.

Before we break for the long weekend, we had the pleasure of celebrating a long life! Today, JF&CS staff gathered to celebrate Helen’s 100th birthday🥳

Helen has received support from more than one Aviv Older Adult Services program, and it was an honor to see the beautiful community of people in her life. We were also joined by our friends from Jewish HomeLife, Weinstein Hospice, and Cherie Aviv (who generously brought 100 birthday cards!) to raise a glass to 100 years of life✨💙

We were delighted to host Commissioner Steve Bradshaw at our main campus in Dunwoody today. Commissioner Steve Bradshaw joined us to discuss the effects of anti-semitism on the community, hear from our CEO about the work we do through our different services, and take a tour of the facility to see where the magic happens✨

While we mourn those we have lost, and ache for those still missing, we will also remember to celebrate Yom Ha’atzmaut.
