Thank you to all who participated in today's Peggy Waskom Super Bowl! We were able to raise $64,000 and counting for the Georgia Apartment Association Foundation whose mission is to bring talent to the multifamily industry.

With industry awareness being the main mission of GAAF, our most influential contacts are the high school students we reach. By partnering with Career and Technical Education at local high schools, students from all “career clusters” are exposed to work-based learning opportunities, part-time work, and post-secondary options to support a multifamily career. These students are eager to get plugged in and we invite our members to connect with these malleable individuals. Ask us how to get involved today!

Over the past year, GAAF has made tremendous progress plugging into local technical colleges throughout the Metro Atlanta area. In early 2024, two industry certification programs were launched at Atlanta Technical College and Georgia Piedmont Technical College. With these program partnerships, there are opportunities for your company to connect with these students who are interested in maintenance careers. As we gear up for the Peggy Waskom Super Bowl, this week we are highlighting the meaningful work GAAF (Georgia Apartment Association Foundation) drives for our members. Led by our GAAF Board, the foundation's mission is to pour into our next generation of multifamily leaders through multiple “pillars”. By creating an awareness of the apartment industry through diverse engagement and training opportunities, we are solving for unique talent challenges our industry faces. Check-in throughout the week for student success stories and ways to get plugged in!

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Representative John Lewis over the weekend. He was a true Atlanta hero and civil rights icon, who has done so much for our community, state, and nation. Our prayers and condolences are with the Lewis family during this time.
