Community Law Center is legally representing nearly a dozen neighborhood associations as residents are apprehensive about property damage, displacement, environmental issues, and more as Amtrak prepares the Frederick Douglass Tunnel.

West Baltimore residents raise concerns about impact of proposed rail tunnel - Maryland Matters Amtrak and MARC officials told a community forum that a new tunnel planned to run under at least 10 majority-Black neighborhoods in West Baltimore will be deep enough to minimize harm to area homes.

Many thanks to Arusa Malik and Chiyedza Mvunduva for their informative and thought provoking end of semester research presentations. The results highlight the need for additional tax credits and incentives to address the racial wealth gap created by historic redlining and perpetuated by credits - with a future focused on equitable change.

The rain did not stop us from hosting our free workshop at Baltimore County Public Library's Woodlawn branch. We shared 10 helpful tips for nonprofits including opening a bank account, asking for help from experts and developing a mission, vision and a set of values.

We represented our client, Fell's Point Residents Association, in a recent case regarding the transfer of a liquor license. Baltimore Brew was present when the Liquor Board gave its ruling.

It was great to connect with residents yesterday at Gilmore Homes. Thanks to the Housing Authority of Baltimore City for organizing this resource fair.

A big thanks to Healing City Baltimore for putting on a great summit. We were happy to help attendees with questions about how to start a nonprofit organization to benefit their communities. It was nice to see Councilwoman Phylicia Porter and incoming Baltimore City Council President, Councilmember Zeke Cohen!

We've been out and about lately, including in Midtown-Edmonson, which will be impacted by the pending construction of Amtrak's Frederick Douglass Tunnel. Thank you to Edmondson Community Organization for giving us a tour.

Baltimore and the Northeast Corridor deserve a great railway system but it should not come at the cost of West Baltimore.
