Today is , so we're sharing the internship experience of landscape architecture student Emma Cox!
Emma took part in the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture’s internship program, interning at Design Workshop in Houston.
“It was the best experience! In just the couple months I have lived and worked here I have learned so much about the profession that you just have to start working to know. Design Workshop has helped me so much to improve my technical skill in different programs and they have just been lovely people to work with. Everyone one in the office is very kind and always willing to answer any questions that you might have. They are very focused on helping you grow as a designer and now I am very excited to come back for my last year with the new things that I have learned.”
Design Workshop manages a variety of design projects that Emma was able to learn from during her internship. “Some of my favorites have been larger scale projects where I get to hand draw and do a lot of conceptual work. I have also really loved working on small scale planting design projects because enjoy the horticultural aspect and detail. Also, unexpectedly I have been doing quite a bit of writing which I am finding out that I also enjoy that! They really take into consideration your interests and try to get you involved with projects that they know you will enjoy and learn the most from.”
