LSU will be closed Tuesday, January 16, due to the forecast of winter weather and icy conditions. All classes and activities scheduled for Tuesday are cancelled, except for courses in the LSU Online & Continuing Education program, which will proceed as scheduled.

The closure includes the LSU Lab School, the LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, and the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. The LSU School of Veterinary Medicine will communicate separately with its students and employees about hospitals and academic operations.

Please check the official website of LSU Athletics for information on any LSU athletic events scheduled for Tuesday.

LSU Residential Life halls, on-campus apartments, and LSU Dining halls will remain open as normal but will update their websites and social media accounts if anything changes.

For information on LSU bus service for Tuesday, visit the LSU Parking & Transportation Services website or social media accounts.

Essential employees should check with their supervisors about whether they should report to campus on Tuesday. The LSU Office of Human Resource Management will send instructions for time entry for the closure to all timekeepers in a follow-up email.

LSU is planning to reopen as normal on Wednesday, January 17, but please watch email, LSU.edu, LSU social media channels, and LSU emergency text messaging in case that changes. Those who have not signed up for emergency text messages should do so at myLSU by clicking on “Personal Preferences” and “Emergency Contacts.”

The LSU Office of Emergency Preparedness, or OEP, will be closely monitoring this situation and will provide any additional information as necessary.
