Stand for Children Louisiana
Stand for Children is a unique catalyst for education equity and racial justice, to create a brighter future for us all.
Our Vision
We believe ALL children deserve an equal opportunity to succeed in life. Education is the key that unlocks the door to success. Far too many children, through no fault of their own, aren’t getting the education they need to make it in life. We are passionately committed to righting this wrong.

Attention Louisiana!
Our state legislature convenes in Baton Rouge THIS Monday at noon for the official start of the legislative session. ️
But what exactly is a legislative session?
Think of it as crunch time for our elected officials. It's the period where they meet, debate, and vote on NEW LAWS that will impact our lives. ⚖️
This session is your chance to make your voice heard! Stay tuned for more info on how to track bills you care about and get involved.

The cost of early care and education can be as
expensive as college tuition. Meaning that quality child care for children birth to age 3 can cost as much as $13,000 per year.
Studies show that child care is often the most
expensive item in a family’s budget. Some working parents face choices like borrowing money or forgoing necessities when trying to afford child care.
because children who receive high-quality early care and education also experience a reduced likelihood of future involvement in the juvenile or criminal justice systems.

Meet Dr. Nikki! Our Regional Organizing Director, caring mother of 4 and a product of the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
💙Dr. Nikki who knows what it is like to be a child who is overlooked and passed onto the next grade despite not being ready. When she started 9th grade, she could not read. It took moving to a new state, a different education system, and having a mother who advocated tirelessly for her child to be on track to graduate from high school on time.
💙Now, Nikki holds a Doctoral degree in Christian counseling and is fighting daily to ensure all students can read proficiently by the end of third grade to close the achievement gap.
