SWE OHP Pen Pal Program - Recruiting Big Bears
Inspire the next class of women in engineering by welcoming them with warm letters! We're seeking current women-identifying students majoring in engineering or computer science majors, and hoping to match Little Bears and Big Bears--incoming students and current students-- who are in the same major and/or enjoy the same activities and interests.
Volunteer to get prospective students excited about Cal! Be a mentor to answer questions about life as an engineering student and share your tips, tricks, and insights to Berkeley. This year, we’re transforming CalWeek (4/25-4/29) into Pen Pal Spirit Week through a series of virtual events (more info and dates in the application!).

Each year, Berkeley Engineering’s Society of Women Engineers (SWE) hosts a new admit Orientation Host Program (OHP). OHP is a unique event held specifically for female identifying and non-binary students admitted to UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering, Chemical Engineering majors from the College of Chemistry, and L&S Intended Computer Science to get a taste of life as a Berkeley Engineer.
Through engaging mixers, panels, and speakers, attendees have an exclusive chance to engage with prospective and present engineering students, meet trailblazing professors and faculty, and be paired up individually with a current engineering student at UC Berkeley. We have an exciting lineup planned that you won't want to miss out on! SWE is working hard to provide students with both an in-person experience of UC Berkeley and online activities to further understand what Berkeley has to offer!
