It has been three years since the last Camporee in our area, but this weekend we returned to the Firestone Scout Reservation with 300 other local scouts and leaders from Crescent Bay District W.L.A.C.C. BSA. Lots of skills, requirement sign-offs, and of course mastering making good food.

One of the great things about scouting is the chance to help a scout along the path to their inherent potential. Troop 33 Eagle Scout Chanan Batra was always at the top of the scoreboard in any endeavor he focused on. Chanan learned along his scouting journey that one should never listen to the doubts that make you limit your achievements. We are so proud to see him taking his first steps along his path to becoming Dr. Chanan Batra.

with parents and kids in Beverly Hills as we are starting a fresh year of adventure now!

Cub Scouting in Beverly Hills Pack 100, which meets at Roxbury Park, is for girls and boys in Kindergarten through fifth grades, or 5 to 10 years of age. Kids who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, are eligible to join Scouts BSA program with Beverly Hills Troop 33.

Scouting gives parents and their children an opportunity to make
memories together.

Through your children's adventures in Scouting, you will aid them in
developing skills and character traits that will benefit them for the
rest of their lives.

The foundation of Scouting is built on providing hands-on, interactive
activities that promote character and leadership development.

In den meetings and pack meetings, Cub Scouts will make new friends,
play purposeful games, and learn new skills through age-appropriate
activities outlined in the Cub Scout handbooks.

Cub Scout families will have opportunities to go camping and to
participate in outdoor adventures. Lessons learned in the out-of-doors
help to develop a life-long respect for the environment.

Pack 100 hold special event throughout the school year such as the
Pinewood Derby & Rain Gutter Regatta, and community service projects.

All of the fun family activities are part of a curriculum designed to
help a Cub Scout become their best future selves!

Activities come and go. When it is all said and done many of those efforts will be pleasant memories and achievements. Scouting becomes something that makes a substantive difference in their lives.

'Young people will say they play soccer, attend a certain school, or belong to a church. Yet they say, “I am a Scout.” In that deep-seated identity lies the power of Scouting.' - Alvin Townley

Troop 33 did not let a bit of rain dampen our weekend invasion of Trask Scout Reservation or our spirit. After arriving just past the worse of the rain Friday evening, Saturday was a beautiful day full of advancement, Rifles, Archery & Shotguns. The scouts enjoyed Chicken Stir Fry made from scratch and the adults simmered chili for 3 hours to a spectacular result.

It is with sadness that we share the passing of Troop 33 Scoutmaster Lawrence Patterson. Larry served in many roles in Scouting during his long scouting career. He was always there for others with his gentle kind advice and guidance.

May the Great Scoutmaster of all true Scouts be with us till we meet again.
