Hi all, Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence needs your help! Big cuts are coming to the federal funding that supports domestic violence and sexual assault programs like ours, so this year's Moonlight Masquerade fundraiser is more important than ever. If you are an individual or business owner who'd be willing to sponsor our event, we have some great packages available! (And remember, the sooner you sponsor, the longer promo time you'll have on our website and social media platforms! 😉 ) We are also in need of silent auction items and just help in promoting our event. Here's a link to see our sponsorship package and order form: https://gccfn.org/MM24/MM24-Sponsor-Package.pdf
If you have a local business and you'd be willing to allow us to hang one of our 11x17 event posters in your storefront window, please give me a shout here or at [email protected] and I'll happily drop one off. Thanks so much, we couldn't do what we do without the help of our Coast community!

Does your partner repeatedly say things like this to you? Do you often question your own perception of reality, or even your own sanity, in your relationship? If so, your partner may be gaslighting you.

Gaslighting is a complicated & confusing thing, so here are examples of what it may look like 👇

We hope to see you there on Friday and Saturday!

It’s always so difficult to fully convey the gravity of domestic violence in our small Gulf Coast Community and the limited resources available. This article from SunHerald did accomplish shining a bright light on this issue and the many challenges we have in combatting it, all on top of knowing we (along with all over victim service agencies across the state/country) will suffer a large reduction of funds next year. There are MANY ways that you can help us outside of financial contributions.

We've just become aware that our 1-800 toll free number is answering as disconnected when people attempt to call our crisis line. In the interim, rest assured that our crisis lines are still available and are staffed for anyone who needs to contact us for assistance. You can still reach us 24/7 at our local numbers:

We are proud to report that we have begun to include Peer Support Specialists into our services. This week we hosted a peer support training in conjunction with Mental Health Association of South Mississippi and the Mississippi Department of Mental Health. Some of our staff and our Voices members have received this valuable training. We know the true value of having people with lived experience brings to any agency’s services. We will host more of these training in the next few months.

Another group of Peer Support Specialists were trained this week to help others recover at the Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence, and at other organizations along the Gulf Coast and the state!

One of the biggest hurdles that domestic violence survivors face in their journey to a violence free life is the lack of transportation. Having a reliable car is the key to opening so many doors for those who are attempting to break free. When we received the phone call from Steed's Collision Center about their wish to donate a car to one of our clients, we were speechless. Today, we got to witness the complete surprise on the face of one of our housing program clients when it was announced that she would be receiving the donation of a car. We can't explain to you just how much of an impact this will make on her life and the lives of her children. Our agency was just one of many who received the kindness of a donation as part of the grand opening of their Ocean Springs location. If you have a car that you would like to donate to the Center for one of our clients, please give us a call and help us make a difference in someone's life.
