Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer to lead our expanding hospital-service based anesthesia group in Boise, Idaho.

Job Summary:
The Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer will report to the Executive Board of the medical group, and will work alongside a team of anesthesiologists, CRNAs, affiliated financial professionals, and contracted partners to provide the best quality service available. The Executive Director / Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and directing both clinical and business operations.

Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and leadership to physician owners for the governance of the practice enterprise.
Partner with all clinical providers to maximize resources dedicated to clinical recruitment, staffing, and scheduling requirements.
Develop and strengthen provider relations and compensation modeling.
Partner with the Executive Board to plan and participate in all practice leadership and/or board meetings.
Evaluate and implement plans for practice improvement.
Own the financial review and planning process.
Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to influence continuous improvements in organizational efficiencies and services.
Actively identify risks and opportunities in the marketplace and develop action plans and proformas accordingly.
Develop, promote, and execute provider recruiting strategies.

Minimum Qualifications:
Leadership
Differentiated sense of self-motivation, direction, and flexibility working in ambiguous and autonomous situations.
Strong organizational development capabilities with effective communication and negotiation skills.
Financial Management
Demonstrated background with financial statements (P/L & Balance Sheets) and deriving strategies to effectuate necessary changes.
Working knowledge of Federal regulations concerning practice billing and collections activities.
Experience in developing annual budgets and monthly financial processes.
Relationship Management
Demonstrated ability to develop long-term professional relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
Hospital, payer, and provider relations and contracting experience required.
Proficiency in guiding, directing, and evaluating the performance of 3rd party service vendors.
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree required (MBA, MHA, MPA).
5-10+ years in a significant leadership role of a medical practice.
Experience leading an anesthesia practice preferred.
Knowledge of theory, processes, management, budgeting, and operations.
