Hey everyone, here's the agenda for this week's meeting.
- We're back to our regular time and place, so we'll be meeting at 7:00pm this Monday in Robinson Hall Room 109.
- We're gonna kick things off by getting a sense of what you want from the coming year, so if there is anything you've wanted to learn, anywhere you've wanted to go on an outing, or any skills you have that you want to share with the group, come to the meeting and let us know so that we can tailor the year to our member's needs.
- We'll finish things off with a crash course in photo basics. For the benefit of all our less experienced members, we'll cover how to manipulate shutter speed, aperture and ISO to gain full control over your images.
See you there!
Hey everyone, here's the plan for the week!
There's a whole bunch of really rad sounding exhibits going on at the MFA currently, so we thought it'd be well worth a group trip to over there. We'll be meeting at 6:00pm on Thursday at 6:00pm in room 105 of the YMCA and walking over from there.
Be sure to bring you cameras and husky id to get free entry!
Hey folks, tomorrow is meeting day, and you know what that means! That's right, we have a meeting!
At 6pm in room 105 at the YMCA, our resident fashion photography guru Lauren Engel will be holding a tutorial on fashion photoshop. Come watch Lauren take people's faces and make them look prettier right in front of your very eyes!
Hey everyone, as Thursday looms ever closer on the horizon, it's once again time to announce the week's plans.
We'll be holding our first outing of the semester, heading to the Institute of Contemporary Art in Seaport. We'll be leaving from Ruggles (meet by the turnstiles) at 6:00pm. Don't forget to bring your Husky ID so that you won't be charged for admission at the ICA.
Also, congratulations to Sukrit Srisakulchawla and Jamie Thomas, the election winners, and newest members of the NUPIC e-board!
See y'all Thursday!
Pre-meeting update time!
This week (Thursday 6pm YMCA room 105) we'll be:
- Holding e-board elections, so if you're interested on being on the e-board next year, send us an email nominating yourself before the meeting, and prepare a short speech on why you want to help run NUPIC!
- Going over and breaking down all the different kinds of camera gear out there. In a world with nine million different lenses, filters and flashes, things get confusing. Let NUPIC shed some light in your life as we guide and educate you so you can figure out exactly what kind of camera gear you want for exactly your style and needs!
Hey hey hey don't forget, tonight is our first meeting of the semester! See you at 6pm in room 105 in the YMCA. Don't forget to bring any photos you took over break so we can all share with the group!
Bring them on a flashdrive, email them to yourself, or just email them straight to NUPIC4
Hey everyone, just a reminder that due to e-board illness, we won't be having a meeting tonight. Instead we're holding a photo contest to fill that NUPiC shaped hole in your life.
You have until next week's Wednesday meeting to go out and take the raddest photo you can, working within the theme "Boston from above." We leave the interpretation of the theme up to you, so we're excited to see what y'all come up with! The one condition is that the photo has to have been taken between now and next week's meeting.
The winner will get a free, pro-quality print of any one of their photos (doesn't have to your contest entry), and we'll be accepting submissions all week at [email protected], or in person at our next meeting.
As always, hit myself, Sam or Kaylan with any questions!
Hi guys, the meeting time for today outing to Beacon Hill is moved to 2:30pm. Meeting place is the same at Ruggles station.
Hey everyone, just a reminder that we'll be holding a tutorial on general photo editing and the advantages of shooting in RAW today at 7. Come by if you wanna learn stuff!
As usual, IV room 13. Hope to see you there.
Hey everyone,
If you haven't heard, a man was shot in Mission Hill, near where planned to hold todays outing. In light of this, we'll be going to the much less gun violence heavy Charles River Esplanade. We'll still be meeting at the Northeastern T stop at 5:45, and we'll walk from there.

Hey Folks,
Tomorrow will be our first outing of the semester! We're headed to Jamaicaway park, so get hyped. We'll be taking the Green Line to the "Back of the Hill" stop, and we want to get there while there's still enough light to shoot, so we'll be meeting at the Northeastern T stop (the outbound platform in front of Marino) at 5:45pm sharp(ish).
So bring your cameras and any questions about photography you might have and get ready to shoot!
We hope to see you all there!
Hey NUPiC,
Welcome to the start of the year! Though our first official meeting will me next Wednesday the 16th, where we’ll have an outing to Jamaicaway park, we will be holding a photo basics tutorial tomorrow from 7pm-8pm in IV room 13.
This is intended to teach all our beginner members the basics of photography and how to operate a camera, but also for some more experienced members to brush up on their skills. Regardless of your skill level or experience, we look forward to seeing all you either tomorrow for the tutorial, or next week for our first official outing!
