Thanks to a generous grant from RIZE Massachusetts, Simmons University's School of Social Work is excited to provide a range of opportunities for a select group of MSW students in their advanced year of studies. These opportunities include substance use-focused training, mentorship, specialized practicum experiences, and a stipend. This initiative supports both on-ground and online students who are passionate about substance use services.

Our Story
The School of Social Work (SSW) is distinguished in many ways: a pioneer in social work education; nationally acclaimed faculty; alumni who are leaders in their fields; and an ideal Boston location in the Longwood Medical Area. We uphold our educational promise to students by making sure that you have direct and frequent access to faculty who know your name and understand your goals. Small classes, case discussions, experiential learning, role play, seminars, and research contribute to the personal and very practical learning experience at Simmons. The SSW is highly regarded for its fieldwork approach, which allows students to interact very early and often with clients and agencies during the program. We also offer a supportive and a highly collaborative academic community.
