Bristol, Virginia, adding fifth voting location This fall, some residents in the eastern portion of Bristol, Virginia, will vote at a new location. The City Council is in the process of creating a 5th Voting Precinct.

Today is the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate! Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Also, Voters that vote in the Van Pelt precinct will need to go to Highlands Fellowship Church off of Bonham Road to vote today.

Finally, today is the deadline to file to run for local office in the November 5, 2024 General Election.

Tomorrow is the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate across the Commonwealth. The polling hours will be 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at each polling location. Also remember that voters that vote at the Van Pelt precinct will need to go to Highlands Fellowship Church off of Bonham Road for this election. ***Attention Updated June 18, 2024 Republican Primary Information:

The Van Pelt precinct located at 350 Spring Hill Terrace will temporarily relocate for the June 18th Republican Primary for U.S. Senate. This change is due to construction work at the polling site.

The new location will be:

Highlands Fellowship Church
(Off of Bonham Road)
134 Commerce Court
Bristol, Virginia 24201

We will be placing signs at both locations about this temporary change. If you have any questions, please contact the General Registrar's office at (276) 645-7318.

Today is the first day of early voting for the Republican Primary for U.S. Senate throughout the Commonwealth. In Bristol, early voting hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except state observed holidays). We will also be open the two Saturdays prior to the election. There will be a statewide Republican Primary for U.S. Senate on June 18, 2024. Below is the sample ballot for that primary.

Voters that are on the permanent absentee list and selected to receive Republican Primary ballots by mail, should start receiving those starting next week.

Early voting starts on Friday, May 3rd.

Saturday, March 2nd will be the last day of early voting for the Dual Presidential Primaries in Virginia! Our office is open each day from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for early voting.

The primary will be held on Tuesday, March 5th. If you choose to vote that day, you will need to go to your normal polling location. The polling hours for Tuesday are from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Attention Van Pelt Elementary voters! There is a new road to enter the precinct on Election Day. When traveling down Suncrest Drive from Bonham Road, you will pass the Bristol Virginia Fire Department (Station 3), the next road on the left named "Van Pelt Circle" is the new entrance to the school. Keep in mind that voting is still located in the Van Pelt Elementary gymnasium located at the front entrance to the school. Also, the entrance to the parking lot on the Springhill Terrace side of the school is still available. There will be signs to mark these changes on Election Day. The logic and accuracy testing of the voting equipment being used in the November 7, 2023 General Election in the city is now complete! Pursuant of Virginia Code sections §24.2-632 and §24.2-633, all election equipment being used for voting in each election must be tested prior to each election to ensure it has been programmed correctly and functions accurately. Representatives from the political parties and representatives of independent candidates are invited to attend this event. We appreciate our outstanding team here in Bristol for getting us prepared for November 7th!

Early voting starts today in the Commonwealth for the November 7, 2023 General Election! Bristol Virginia city residents have several convenient options to cast their ballot early. We have a drive-thru window that includes a ballot dropbox for mailed ballots. We also have in person voting inside of City Hall. There is also a ballot dropbox located inside of the lobby of City Hall. Hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (except state observed holidays).
