💙OFFICER DOWN💙
TMPA Attorney Ray Thomas is assisting members of the Caldwell Police Department regarding an officer-involved shooting. It’s been reported that during the incident, a Caldwell Police Officer was shot, was transported to a local hospital, and was reportedly in stable condition.
The violence against law enforcement continues, and according to the National Fraternal Order of Police, it is up 40% from 2020! . Our thoughts and prayers are with the Caldwell Police Officer for a full recovery.

Big win for a client today.
Serious charge filed against a juvenile. Law enforcement did not use due diligence investigating and let case set for over a year past having probable cause. Case not presented to DA and filed until after client turned 18. Motion filed objecting to jurisdiction and for dismissal. If State had jurisdiction, their only path would have been to try to certify client as adult and transfer to adult court.
Hearing was set for tomorrow. Lots of research and prep done. All set to argue case tomorrow confident in our position that the State lost jurisdiction.
Well, no hearing. State non-suited (dismissed) case late this afternoon.
Now this young adult can have his record cleared and move on with his life!
🚨CRITICAL INCIDENT🚨
TMPA Attorney Ray Thomas is responding to an Officer-Involved shooting with members of the College Station Police Department.
Thankfully, no Officers are injured!
🚓 Impaired Driving Mobilization (IDM) Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) 🚓
For two weeks, beginning December 16th, 2022, the Bryan Police Department will be participating in the TxDOT “Impaired Driving Mobilization” program. This is a two-week Selective Traffic Enforcement Program grant funded by TxDOT with the goal of increasing traffic safety and reducing fatality and serious bodily injury crashes. During the two week period of this grant, the Bryan Police Department will be performing increased traffic enforcement in two specific areas which have been identified by TxDOT as having higher than average crashes resulting in death or serious bodily injury.
The two areas of increased enforcement are:
▶️ North Earl Rudder Freeway from the South city limit to Boonville Road, Boonville Road from North Earl Rudder Freeway to Briarcrest Drive, and Briarcrest Drive from Boonville to North Earl Rudder Freeway.
▶️ South Texas Avenue from East Villa Maria Road to South College Avenue (South Y), Finfeather Road, Groesbeck & Leonard Road from Finfeather Road to Harvey Mitchell Parkway, Harvey Mitchell Parkway from Leonard Road to West Villa Maria Road, and West Villa Maria Road from Harvey Mitchell Parkway to South Texas Avenue.
These two areas include all streets within the described boundaries. This does not mean officers will not be conducting traffic enforcement throughout the rest of the city. We will continue to enforce impaired driving throughout the city.
The idea of a Veterans Court has been brought to their attention for several years. Why act like it’s a new idea? Veterans Courts have been established and very successful in much smaller and much poorer counties across Texas. This has been and will continue to be a much needed program in Brazos County. No more discussion is needed - less talk, less excuses, more action! Thanks again to Commissioners Aldrich and Ford for fighting for the best interest of the county and its citizens.
Brazos County Commissioners Court discuss potential Veterans Court A court designed to serve veterans could make it’s way to Brazos County, but it’s still just in the discussion phase.
Almost 600 Texas youths are trapped in a juvenile prison system on the brink of collapse The agency is so understaffed that teens have reported spending up to 23 hours locked in their cells, using water bottles to go to the bathroom. A staggering number have hurt themselves or been placed on su***de watch.
Road Runner is concerned that Wile E. Coyote has filed charges against him for the many years of assaults with anvils and Acme explosives. He was waiting on our office porch today for a consult. I think he has a strong case for self defense. Ready for trial, Beep Beep!
