Talk about a small world! I have a medical malpractice case pending in McLennan County, Texas. One of the opposing counsel is a gentlemanly lawyer named Stan Thiebaud. I told Stan that I had only heard that last name once before in my life, and that was when I was playing JV football at Dulles High School. Our two coaches were Freddie Melton and Gary Thiebaud. Stan told me that Gary Thiebaud is his older brother. How cool is that?
When misguided public opinion honors what is despicable and despises what is honorable, punishes virtue and rewards vice, encourages what is harmful and discourages what is useful, applauds falsehood and smothers truth under indifference or insult, a nation turns it's back on progress and can be restored only by the terrible lessons of catastrophe.
Frederic Bastiat (French economist who lived from 1801 - 1850)
God has called you to Christ’s side, and the wind is now in Christ’s face in this age, and seeing you are with Him, you cannot expect the sheltered or sunny side of the hill.
– Samuel Rutherford.

Absolute ignorance!
As one who has at least a rudimentary understanding of orbital mechanics, I am appalled that such intellectual vacuity is expressed on the View, a show with a viewership of over 2,000,000 people! No wonder our society has become so dumb!
Scientists and physicists have been able to predict for years what happened this past Monday!
And Ms. Hostin thinks that what we do on earth could move planets? and it could move the moon? and it could align the moon perfectly between the sun and the earth?
On second thought, maybe Ms. Hostin is right. After all, nature abhors a vacuum and some on the View apparently have brains that are like a black hole.
‘The View’ co-host Sunny Hostin claims eclipse caused by climate change “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin blamed Monday’s solar eclipse, Friday’s earthquake and the expected cicada breeding season on “climate change.”

Kangaroos are just deer who have served time in prison.
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other nothing is deprived of its warmth.

For our hunting friends: it is lawful to shoot deer (in season, of course), other animals and non-migratory birds (e.g. wild turkeys) from an ATV, but it is NOT lawful to hunt migratory birds (e.g. dove, ducks and geese) from an ATV.

Extreme Gratitude in the Midst of Extreme Grief
Many of y'all know that my family and I have had a very difficult few months and it was especially difficult for us the last few weeks.
It was even more difficult on my son, Josh Davis, and his wife, Lizzie, when their second son, who is my third grandson, died during child birth on June 24.
Yet, we are very grateful for the outpouring of love and encouragement from our family and friends; even friends who barely know Josh and Lizzie since they just moved here about five months ago.
I am also especially grateful for the Judges and the lawyers in the Brazos Valley who have been so kind and considerate in giving us time off when we needed it, resetting hearings and trials so that we can spend time with our loved ones and even offering to cover hearings for me.
I love my job and I love helping people. The collegiality and professional courtesy that exists in the legal profession in the Brazos Valley makes it even better.
I have heard terrible stories about how mean and shifty some lawyers are in nearby big cities.
We are very blessed to be able to practice law in the Brazos Valley and to call this place home.
I am grateful for peacefulness…
