This week our club welcomed Peggy Kane, Volunteer Safety Educator with the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company. Peggy, who has spent 6 years as a company volunteer, gave us an introduction and demonstration of a fire blanket endorsed by the fire department.
Using a blanket is ideal for a small kitchen fire ignited by oil or grease on the stovetop.
Volunteers like Peggy and our own club member, Richard Dunmire, are seeking other community members to join them. They give educational presentations and conduct training sessions for adults and children throughout Cranberry. Contact Jack Carney at the CTVFC for more info!

Recently, our club was fortunate to hear from Tricia Pritchard, BC3’s Director of Community Employment Development, and Personal Empowerment Training (PET) Facilitator, Jackie Eppler, about Butler County Community College’s PET program.
Club members learned about the value of emotional intelligence and examples from the 40 empowerment concepts included in this training. Employers, nonprofits, civic organizations and individuals all can benefit from leadership training.

Meeting speakers are highly valued and welcome at our weekly business meetings. Our recent speaker, Jeff Krantz, gave us an overview of Priority2Work, a Pittsburgh non-profit, all volunteer organization that assists people of all vocations in job search or career transition. P2W volunteers provide monthly skills workshops, bi-weekly coffee get togethers and individual mentorship/coaching throughout the job seeker’s journey, with the goal of landing a win-win new employment opportunity for each client.
For those new to a job search or wanting guidance, support and networking assistance for a current search, PM this page. Rotary member , a P2W board member, can provide more information.
